Highlights
  • Trou aux Cerfs - Discover the southern part of Mauritius on a 7-hour private day tour. The journey starts with a pick-up from any location in Mauritius. You’ll meet our driver/guide and set off for your first destination. Your first stop is Trou Aux Cerfs, a renowned natural attraction in Mauritius. This dormant volcanic crater stands about 605 meters above sea level, with a diameter of 350 meters and a depth of around 100 meters. Unlike typical volcanic features, the crater is surrounded by a lush forest of indigenous plants and giant green pine trees. It is believed that Trou aux Cerfs erupted once and has been dormant for the last 700,000 years, though experts think it could become active again. One of the main highlights is the 360-degree view of Curepipe town and the majestic Rempart Mountain, Trois Mamelles, and the Port-Louis-Moka Mountain range.
  • Mare aux Vacoas - Next, visit the Mare Aux Vacoas reservoir, the largest on the island with a capacity of nearly 26 million cubic meters. It’s a popular stop for tourists exploring the south of the island. While it may not be as flashy as other attractions, Mare aux Vacoas is a hidden gem nestled between thick forests. It’s the perfect spot to relax for a few minutes away from the hustle and bustle. The reservoir also offers a stunning view worth capturing.
  • Grand Bassin - A short drive will take you to Grand Bassin, also known as Ganga Talao, a crater lake about 550 meters above sea level in the mountainous southwest of Mauritius. On the shoreline, you’ll find a temple and several small shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva and other gods. The site features a gigantic 33-meter-high statue of Lord Shiva, the tallest statue in Mauritius. Ganga Talao attracts many visitors who come to pray, meditate, or simply enjoy the beautiful surroundings. The lake is about 18 meters deep and is home to a healthy population of fish and eels.
  • Alexandra Falls View Point - Your next stop is Alexandra Falls, where you can admire the cloud forest of Mt Cocotte and the waterfall, along with views of the south coast. If you love waterfalls, this is a must-see! Hidden in the deep jungle of the Black River Gorges, Alexandra Falls looks like something out of a movie. The setting is unique, with the allure of falling water surrounded by lush greenery and the sounds of local birds and other creatures. Don’t miss the chance to capture the panoramic view of the South Coast with its turquoise ocean. The surroundings of the waterfalls resemble a real jungle book, offering tranquility and peacefulness.
  • Black River Gorges National Park - Next, head to Gorge Viewpoint for a stunning panoramic view of endless green stretches. In the unspoiled rainforest of Mauritius, you’ll find nearly 17,000 acres of rolling hills, deep valleys, spectacular waterfalls, and unparalleled flora and fauna. The viewing area is quite high, offering breathtaking views of the gorge and a nearby waterfall. The path to the viewpoint has a unique ambiance with some souvenir stalls. You might even encounter a group of monkeys welcoming you along the way. The Black River Gorges Nature Reserve was established to preserve the island’s natural vegetation and is one of Mauritius’ most important sights. The park protects most of the island’s remaining rainforest and is home to many species of wild animals and birds.
  • Bassin Blanc - The scenic route to Bassin Blanc in Mauritius is a breathtaking journey through lush forests. The road winds through dense vegetation, offering stunning views of Mauritius’ natural beauty. A dramatic 180-degree bend provides an exhilarating experience for travelers. The dense forest canopy creates a sense of serenity and tranquility, with glimpses of vibrant wildlife like birds and small mammals.
  • La Vallee des Couleurs - Conclude your adventure with a final stop at La Vallee des Couleurs in Chamouny, where the 23 Colored Earth marvel awaits, along with various local activities. The reserve is home to diverse flora and fauna and offers a range of nature trips and fun activities. Nature lovers will enjoy the unique experience of the park’s indigenous fauna and flora. A Perfect host for Mauritius - I can't say enough about how helpful this company was during my stay in Mauritius. Upon arrival, I learned there was a religious festival on the island, which would block off many roads, and I also came down with a bad case of food poisoning which did not come from Mauritius but my previous stop. So, my schedule was shattered. But calmly the company worked with me, so I got so see all the important stops in Mauritius both North and South. The drivers were informative, courteous and always on time.
