Djerba Matmata Sabria

Matmata - - Head to the troglodyte village of Matmata, stopping for photos at the Berber village of Toujane.

• Arrive in Matmata: visit Sidi Driss, a filming location for the famous Star Wars saga.
• Visit a Berber family in their underground home.
• Lunch break.

Douz - - Continue to the sandy village of Sabria and spend the night in a Bedouin tent.

• Settle into your tent and wait to admire the magnificent sunset over the sea of sand. (You can also take a camel ride at sunset for an additional charge, payable on site!)
• Attend a demonstration of the famous preparation of sand bread (bread baked under sand and embers) followed by a delicious Tunisian meal!
• Enjoy your evening around the campfire and gaze at the clear, starry sky where the Milky Way seems within reach!
• Spend a captivating and peaceful night in the serenity of the desert silence.

Douz Ksar Ghilane and Ksar Jouamaa

Douz - - Wake up gently and enjoy a nice breakfast overlooking the dunes (or wake up earlier to watch a stunning sunrise).

• Head to Douz, the gateway to the desert, with its fine white sand dunes.
• Stop and have free time to visit the local market.

Ksar Ghilane - - Then, head to the oasis of Ksar Ghilane.

• Don’t forget to bathe in the hot water spring (known for its therapeutic properties) and enjoy a moment of relaxation in an exceptional setting.
• Walk through the fine sand dunes, which have changed color compared to the desert of Sabria and Douz and now tend towards ocher.
• You still have the option of taking a camel or quad ride (additional charge, payable on site)
• Lunch

Ksar Jouamaa - - After lunch, head to the magnificent 17th-century fortress nestled between stone mesh and rays of sunlight: Ksar Jouamaa.

• Admire the panoramic view, take the time to visit, and appreciate the unique architecture, authenticity, and originality of the Ghorfas (rooms).
• Enjoy a unique sunset on the mountain.
• Savor a delicious dinner and spend a pleasant night in the arms of Morpheus.

Tataouine Chenini and return to Djerba

Tataouine - - Gentle awakening and good breakfast with a view of the mountain and the village below.

• Then, head to Ksar Hadada, where certain scenes from the film “Star Wars, Episode I: The Phantom Menace” were filmed.
• Continue your journey to the Berber village of Chenini, which offers mountain views, and spend about an hour there with your local guide. The guide will be happy to show you the different buildings that make up the village, such as the oil mill, the mosque, the houses carved into the mountain, and many others.
• Then go to Tataouine, the city which gave its name to the planet Tatooine in the Star Wars saga.
• Take the time to visit the local market and taste the excellent gazelle horns (local pastry).

Djerba Island - - Enjoy a delicious local meal on the way back to Djerba.

• On the way back to Djerba, stop at the Chahbania salt lake for a photo break.
• Return to Djerba with a light heart and a head full of unforgettable memories.
