At its time, the Market was not conceived as a closed precinct but as an activity developed at the “Plaza Mayor” in the central area of the city. It was usually held on Saturdays or Sundays, the same days as religious congregations happened

The best tour and tour guide in Medellin! - Sebastian and Luis were amazing. They were knowledge, engaging and passionate about the foods, history, and culture. The connection between the people and the land, the heritage of place and the love of local foods and history, made this one of the best tours I've ever had.

Alejandro was fantastic and taught us so much! - The fruits were so tasty! The shop was busy, but the venders were very friendly. We did a cool scavenger shop which kept it us entertained😀

A tour for all your senses - Loved this tour! Going to a big local farmers market was a great experiences for all our senses. It felt like a local experience and not touristy at all. Our guide was excited to share his knowledge and made us feel so welcome. We tasted so many different types of fruits that we had never heard of or tasted before. A good showcase of the amazing biodiversity in Colombia. Definitely recommend for those who are curious.

Exotic indeed! - Loved this tour ! I learned so much about the local produce and tasted fruits that I’ve never seen or heard of. Sophia, our guide, was excellent. Tour includes a arepa with cheese and juice or smoothie at the end, in addition to all the regular tastings. Minimal walking, all inside the market building.

Great Fruit experience - Was a great experience trying the different fruits. Orion was great, very knowledgeable. He played a game trying to have us identify the fruits, that was nice but maybe give us a time limit 😉.
