The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia - “The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia” - Flinders Street, 3000
(Located next to “Beer DeLuxe Fed Square”) - Just a 2-minute walk from Melbourne’s main train station - Flinders Street Railway Station.
You will be welcomed by one of our tour guides in either a 14-seater white Mercedes-Benz bus or a 20-seater bus at 8:35 am, where we will check you in and assign your seat. The bus departs promptly at 9 am or earlier if everyone has arrived. We cannot wait for late arrivals.
If everyone arrives early and we depart ahead of schedule, we can stop halfway for a coffee and look for kangaroos (weather permitting).
- Yarra Valley - Just a 60-minute drive to your first winery. (30 minutes on the freeway and 30 minutes through the countryside and vineyards, passing through the charming town of Warrandyte).
- Soumah - We visit Soumah daily. Enjoy a guided tasting of five different wines, including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Nebbiolo, and Brachetto. You’ll surely find something delightful while overlooking the rolling hills of the vineyard and the majestic Warramate Hills.
- Four Pillars Distillery - We visit Four Pillars daily. Here, you will enjoy three of their gins. (Alternatively, we can walk you over to the incredible Payten & Jones for a wine & Spanish vermouth tasting or one of their dozens of international beers).
- Innocent Bystander - If gin isn’t your preference, let us take you to the Innocent Bystander Winery for a wine tasting. The great thing about this winery is that if you love the wines in the tasting that we pay for, you are in luck. The wine they sell here is some of the most affordable in The Yarra Valley.
- Payten & Jones Wines - If gin isn’t your thing, Payten & Jones offers a Wine & Spanish Vermouth tasting featuring Sangioveses and Tempranillos. This is a 10-second walk from Four Pillars, so we can easily split the group based on preference. If you do not want a wine tasting, we will happily buy you a beer from their selection of international beers!
- Domaine Chandon - On the way to lunch, after our second stop of the day, we can pull into Chandon, Yarra Valley’s home of sparkling wine. There is no tasting or booking here. It is just a quick stop before lunch to grab a bottle of their famous sparkling wine from their shop or to snap one of the most picturesque photos of the day.
-
Hubert Estate - We visit ‘Quarters’ restaurant at Hubert Estate daily for lunch and a look around their indigenous art gallery below their cellar door. If you brought your own food, you can eat it away from their grounds. We will sit in the restaurant and enjoy lunch together. Food and drink are not included in the tour price here, giving you the freedom to choose whatever you like for lunch. They offer a wide variety of fantastic food and cater to all dietary requirements.
“With a menu full of Modern Australian and European-inspired dishes, Quarters is perfect for foodies, families, and everyone in between. Think succulent steaks, vibrant local vegetables, and delicate, flaky fish.
Feeling extra hungry? Try some pasta, handmade on-site, and our incredible (yes, incredible) woodfired pizza, unlike any others in the region. Lucky everyone has a second stomach for dessert, because our dedicated team of pastry chefs will tempt anyone with a sweet tooth.” - Yarra Valley Dairy - If anyone from the group wants to stop here for 5 or 10 minutes to buy some takeaway cheese, that will not be a problem at all. This is a bonus stop, so there is no time for a cheese tasting. Any cheese purchased here is not included in the tour price
- Yering Station - If The Chocolaterie isn’t your thing, let your driver know at lunch and they will happily take you to Yering Station Winery where you can buy yourself a glass of wine at Victoria’s first planted vineyard (1838).
- Yering Farm Wines - We visit Yering Farm Wines daily. Enjoy a guided tasting of five different wines and a bonus taste of cider while enjoying the panoramic views! Yering Farm has a rustic tasting room, a resurrected hay shed beside the lambing nursery and orchard on the farm. The original ‘Yeringa’ sign was recovered and adorns the entrance. Pull up a stool or lean on the worn wooden bar as you are treated to a presentation of boutique wines, all grown and made on-site.
- Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery - We visit the Chocolaterie daily for a fantastic guided tasting of 10 of their 500 different chocolates. The Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery is a popular attraction in the Yarra Valley, known for its wide variety of handmade chocolates and delicious ice cream. Visitors can watch the chocolatiers at work, sample their products, and purchase gelato and gifts to take home.
