Good experience! - Our guide Miguel is very professional and attentive! A great option for stress free tourism. We went to the pyramid and he told us a lot about the history and meaning of each place. Transportation is of good quality and comfortable.

Well run, great tour, good food--all as advertised. - Our guide was really good and we did not have to wait long, despite the crowds in Chichen Itza. The lunch was really good with a wide variety of Mexican / Yucatecan food and some little kid pleasers. Make sure you pay attention to the obligatory Mexican tax and the life jackets. This was a solid operation.

AN EXCELLENT CULTURAL VALUE! - AWESOMENESS! This tour gave me a glimpse into ancient Mayan civilization. In My mind it showed the Mayan to be one of the most advanced civilizations of their time. The Cenotes were also interesting as was the “Yellow” town. The buffet food was tasty. Overall this was an excellent cultural value.

Great, fun, memorable - This was a great experience. Manuel was a great guide and made it very pleasure able. We had just enough time at every place we went and he was very knowledgeable about the history of the Mayan people.

This is the tour to take. Genuinely Perfect. - My husband and I are visiting Merida for our first time and this was our first tour. This tour was perfect in every way. David was our driver; he made excellent time and was very safe. Manolo was a wonderfully cheerful, kind and knowledgeable tour guide. They both went the extra mile to make sure that we were prepared and taken care of. Lots of jokes, lots of information and a wonderful tour. The tour of Chichen Itza is breathtaking and powerful. Manolo taught us so many interesting facts about Chichen Itza it felt like we were taken back to 800AD. The Cenote was indescribably beautiful; the lunch buffet was very delicious and Manolo introduced us to a Mayan cleansing/ blessing ceremony. Flawless!

Great tour and tour guide - We had so much fun on this trip. Manolo was a great tour guide. He was very informative and communicated the whole time. We had about 12 people in our group which was the perfect size. The food at the cenote was delicious and we practically had the cenote to ourselves. It was so cool. The ruins were amazing even though it was really hot outside. The transportation was comfortable and convenient.

Chichen Itza, a must visit if you are going to the Yucatan Peninsula. - The visit was magnificent, and the visit is highly recommended, being in the peni suka of Yucatan an archaeological site with a lot of history that I know should be visited.

Would not recommend - I wish I could leave a better review of this tour. However, I genuinely would not recommend this experience to someone trying to visit chichen itza. While the timing of the tour was good (arriving early to Chichen Itza and the cenote to avoid the crowds), the lack of clear communication and misleading advertising leave me no option but to leave a low review. First, even though we booked a tour that was scheduled to start at 8AM, our pickup time was changed to 6AM. The tour company did not consult with us or formally notify us of this change—the information was simply different in the reminder email than it had been in the initial confirmation email. When we asked if we could be picked up at our hotel instead of the pickup point due to the earlier time and inconvenience of needing to get an Uber at 5:30 AM, we were bluntly told that we simply needed to be there at the scheduled time, even though it was not the time we had paid for. My biggest complaint with the tour, however, is the misleading nature of the advertised pricing. The tour is advertised as including both the entrance fee for Chichen Itza and the cenote. The website states that the expenses for which we would be responsible would be the culture tax at Chichen Itza (39 USD) and the life jacket fee at the cenote (no quoted price). On the day before my tour, I called Amigos Tours and verified that information. The employee that I spoke to confirmed that I would not need to pay the entrance fee at Chichen Itza or the cenote. However, when we were on the way to Chichen Itza, our guide informed us that we would need to pay the entrance fee to Chichen Itza (95 pesos each), in addition to the culture tax. Our guide called Amigos Tours to clarify, and the same employee with which I had spoken to the night before asked our guide to charge us for the entrance fee. This seemed misleading, dishonest, and, quite frankly, like price-gouging. A similar situation happened at the cenote. Even though I had been under the impression that I would only need to pay for the life jacket, I was informed that I needed to pay for a life jacket, a locker, and a drink in the restaurant. When I told them that I had already paid the entrance fee, I was told that it would “all come out to the same,” since I would need to pay for a drink and life jacket anyways. We were pressured to spend 200 pesos each on a full entrance ticket, even though this expense was supposedly included in the $80 USD tour price (approximately 1,500 pesos). I asked for clarity on the pricing various times, and each time I was brushed off and told that it would “all come out to the same.” All in all, I selected this tour because it seemed to be an affordable option, given that it included the entrance to the cenote and Chichen Itza. However, these expenses are not covered in actuality. I was frustrated by the misleading advertising and pressure to constantly purchase additional goods and services. In spite of the good things about this tour, I would recommend that a prospective visitor of Chichen Itza look elsewhere for a guided tour.
