In a cozy van designed for a maximum of 10 people, we’ll initiate our journey from our pick-up location at 5:50 am, aiming to reach Chichen Itza early to escape both the heat and the masses - allowing you to seize some breathtaking photos. Our licensed professional guide will shed light on the history and significance of the ancient Mayan city. We’ll then drive for about 45 minutes to reach a small Mayan community where a family will warmly welcome us to their privately owned, recently discovered underground cenote for a joyful swim. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to savor authentic Yucatan cuisine, a treat for the taste buds with traditional home-style flavors. From there, head off to Izamal, the yellow town, to scale a Mayan pyramid nestled within the city. Enjoy delightful ice cream, visit the historical convent and church of the city before we wind up and head back to Merida. The culinary experience includes delectable treats like guacamole, panuchos, salbutes, relleno negro, cochinita pibil, handmade tortillas, a refreshing hibiscus flower cold tea, and fresh fruit.
