The Indian River Lagoon is one of the few unique places globally where this natural phenomenon can be observed. Just a short distance from Orlando, in the heart of the Indian River, you can witness one of nature’s most spectacular displays firsthand. Join us as we paddle under the stars, surrounded by billions of glowing and shimmering dinoflagellates. Each stroke of your paddle will reveal a mesmerizing natural light show.

As we paddle, we’ll also be on the lookout for Comb Jellies! These gentle creatures, native to the lagoon, light up when disturbed. With nets in hand, we can gently scoop up these delicate jellies for a close-up view as they illuminate the night.

Better than I could have hoped for - Awesome experience… so much better than I expected! Our guide, Nate, was amazing and very knowledgeable. Do the 10pm trip if you can stay up that late… it’s super dark and the water is very peaceful.

Light up my eyes and mind - Nathan was extremely knowledgeable about the dinoflagellates and tge Comb Jellies, as well as their environment. We not only saw many of both, but learned so much about them and their environment along the way.

Three stars but only because I realise that weather and water/algea are not controllable - We were unlucky with the weather and had to stay right next to the starting point. That meant we did not see very many algea, which was really disappointing. The tour was changed from 8:30 to 8, so more of the tour was not in the dark. The guide Jess talked a lot about their other tours (manatees), which we had tried, so not relevant for us. Finally we were never shared the pictures as promised. We drove 1½ hours from Orlando and it was unfortunately not worth it.
