Highlights

Fes – Midelt – Erfoud . (469KM).

Merzouga Desert - After breakfast, depart from your accommodation and head to Merzouga via Ifran, a town styled like a Swiss village. We’ll stop for a coffee break and a quick look around the city. Next, we’ll visit cedar forests to see and feed the Barbary monkeys. Continue driving to Midelt, known as the “apple capital,” where we’ll have lunch. We then proceed over the Tizi-n-Talremt pass (1907 meters above sea level) through the Ziz Valley, famous for its palm trees and extensive oasis. Along the way, you’ll see numerous “Ksars,” small villages of individual houses. From there, we reach Er Rachidia and then Erfoud, known for its date festival and fossils. Arrive in Merzouga to witness Morocco’s unique dunes. The rest of the day will be spent enjoying the evening changes over the dunes. In Merzouga, camels will be waiting to take you into the Sahara to watch a stunning sunset and head towards the bivouac for dinner and music under the Milky Way.

Merzouga – Rissani–Tinjdad – Todgha Gorge.(253KM).

Boumalne Dades - Wake up early to enjoy the mesmerizing sunrise, then ride the camels back to the hotel on the dune line for a quick shower and breakfast. Bid farewell to the desert and start a new adventure. On the way to Erfoud, known for its fossils, visit the place where fossils are extracted from stones. Stop at the traditional market of Errisani, a quiet town that was once the ancient capital of Tafilalet and a major caravan center. Next, arrive at the Todra Gorges, located beyond the central High Atlas Mountains. The contrasting landscapes here are reminiscent of Colorado, with high plateaus, gorges, canyons, and peaks shaped by erosion. The area is inhabited by Berbers. Enjoy a hike through these stunning canyons and travel along the road of 1000 Kasbahs. Along the way, you’ll see many marvelous sights like the monkey fingers mountains and the Zig Zag road, where you can have mint tea or Moroccan coffee NOS-NOS. After this break, return to your accommodation.

Dades valley – Ouarazazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Atlas Mountains . (308KM).

Marrakech - After breakfast at your hotel, drive to Marrakech. The journey includes a visit to Ouarazazate, often considered the last major outpost before the Sahara Desert. This city has become a popular filming location for blockbusters such as Game of Thrones, Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, Prince of Persia, The Sands of Time, Body of Lies, The Mummy, Babel, Spy Game, and many others. Our next stop is Kasbah Taourirt, a citadel set against the Atlas Mountains. This impressive fortification has nearly 300 rooms and a maze of passageways, steps, and key lock doors, with only a narrow entrance connecting it to the outside world. We’ll also visit the studios to capture some iconic cinema scenes. On our way back to Marrakech, we’ll stop at Aït Benhaddou, a ‘fortified city’ along the former caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakech. Located on a hill along the Ouarazazate River, it features beautiful kasbahs, some still inhabited, and is a UNESCO World Heritage site and film location. After lunch, continue to Marrakech and drop you off at your accommodation. Time to say goodbye.
