You will get a full experience of an urban vinery on the slopes of Mount Etna!
Vineyard Walk
The tour will start with a walk across urban vineyards nestled between Catania and Etna at your own pace. Its a unique urban trekking next to rare dry-stone made buildings, an oak wood and an olive grove among others. If you come with children I will give them their own treasure map . Bring comfortable closed- toes shoes, tennis are perfect!
Palmento Visit
Back from the field, you will discover our 18th century Palmento (traditional Sicilian winery), that is among the largest and best preserved in the area, still equipped with its large chestnut wood barrels and the grape pressing machine dating 1790. A rare jewel to be seen! Here you will also hear of some family stories that we found reading our ancestor’s diaries.
Wine Tasting Journey
The tour will finish with a tasting experience on contemporary Etna culinary landscape. You will taste wines from 4 different wineries around the vulcano, each paired with a gourmet bite prepared by our resident chef Leonardo, to finish your day relaxing in our courtyard or the garden looking at Etna

Etna Urban Winery presents a distinctive vineyard tourism experience, nestled in a natural place on Mount Etna amidst the growing city. It’s where we’ve chosen to rejuvenate the age-old family practice of Etna viticulture, which is a contrasting choice in an area experiencing a surge in building and infrastructure development.
Our passion is sparked by an estate that’s been in the family for eight generations, and the objective to prove that alternative land usage is viable even in city outskirts. These suburbs still maintain the distinctive atmosphere of a typical Etna lava field.
You’re invited to meander through the vineyards at your convenience using our self-guided vineyard tour. Take your time to relish in your surroundings, pause at scenic overlooks and learn from the informational signs dotted around the vineyard. Take in the austere feel of our authentic Palmento (historical winery), which dates back to 1790 and remains largely unchanged.
Then, venture into our unique cuisine! Our in-house chef Leonardo is excited to take you on a gastronomic adventure through the four corners of Etna, with four different wines paired with four gourmet nibbles.
