Best way to experience the Naples port in a full day! - Giovanni was our driver. He was prompt and provided excellent explanations along the way. He was able to keep us on track in order to make it back to the ship in a timely manner. He also gave us lots of tips on where to shop/eat in Sorrento and was easily reachable by WhatsApp when needed. He was kind and knowledgeable about the Naples area. We also had Anna for our Pompeii tour. She was brilliant and passionate about the archeological site. We learned so much from her in a small amount of time. Would highly recommend both of these guides! Thank you for an amazing day!

Beautiful views bad guide - The views of the Amalfi coast were gorgeous. The problem with the tour was the guide did not seem familiar with things and did not tell us there were different things we could do in Pompeii Ie get the headphones for a self guided tour he only said we needed 18 euros to get in its was disappointing

Not A Great Tour, Basically Just Glorified Transportation - I was really looking forward to this tour, but I just can’t in good conscience rate it well. We made the best of the day despite the hiccups, but I would definitely recommend finding an alternative tour. The tour started at 8am, we were outside by the taxi ranks by 7:30am to ensure we were on time. It was complete and utter chaos there- not this tour’s fault, just beware if you choose to do any tour out of the Naples port. The guide was 5-10 minutes late and then proceeded to gaslight other people on the tour by saying “where have you been, I’ve been looking for you.” we had circled the area continuously since we arrived at 7:30am and she was not there. It didn’t particularly bother me that she was a few minutes late but I found it odd that she would lie about it. We finally left the port around 8:45am. Our tour guide had a hard time corralling the group to the bus and we found the bus to be extremely uncomfortable. I’m 5’10” and my husband is 6’4” and we struggled to fit in the seats because the leg room was so limited. At times my husband complained about losing feeling of his feet since his knees were pushing so hard into the seat in front of him haha. We hit severe traffic, so we were in the bus from 8:45am to nearly 12pm. The tour guide initially said the traffic is never this bad, then switched and said it was always that bad. I can’t figure out if she was trying to save face, or why she was giving conflicting information. Just strange. If it’s always that way I suggest they reformat the tour to skip Positano and the first lookout. We had to skip our lookout in Sorrento due to traffic and our lookout of Positano was limited to 10 minutes. There was no access to a bathroom at this time (not an issue for us, but could be for some). We arrived in Sorrento at 12:15pm and had just 45 minutes to eat lunch and explore. We had a very rushed lunch (service in Italy is slow) and ended up running back to the bus stop to make it back in time. We wish they would have just skipped the Positano overlook to give us more time to enjoy Sorrento. The lookout was beautiful, but made for a very rushed and unenjoyable tour. The tour guide was nice but she has only lived in Italy for a few months so not necessarily the ideal tour guide. She kept asking the driver for verification of facts over the microphone and it felt like poor taste. The driver was awesome though! Our favorite part of the whole tour was our time in Pompeii. The tour guide provided was beyond amazing. Her name was Marina. She was independent from the tour company, and I think she may have been employed by Pompeii. She was SO engaging and knowledgeable. By far the best part of the tour. We made it back by 5pm which was great! My husband and I did a little walk into Naples and had some time to explore there as well. If looking out a window for 5-6 hours is enjoyable for you to get a feel of the area, this may be a good option for you. I’d say it’s less of a tour and more transportation.

Worst tour ever by far - They were 30 minutes late. After picking up 18 cruise passengers they then drove to a hotel to pick up two more passengers (not sure why the two were not picked up first). We got stuck in traffic all the way (not sure why they didn’t look up on gps that the road was congested and to reroute our stops). Probably the worst part of being stuck in the traffic is when the car in front of us moved 20 feet the driver floored it and then would have to slam on the brakes. A couple of the other passengers were saying they were getting sick from the driver. The first stop happened after 3 1/2 hours. It was 17 kilometers past Sorrento and was supposed to be a drive by, instead we stopped for 10 minutes waited another 8 minutes for the driver to get back to pick us up. This stop took an extra hour out of our trip. Our next stop was Sorrento. We were given 40 minutes and told to be back at 1. Keep in mind our cruise ship leaves at 4 which we repeatedly told the driver and the tour guide that we needed to be back by 3:30. Our guide takes us to the town square, and drops us off. We are back before 1 and waited for the driver until 1:15. He takes us to Pompeii which to us is the highlight of the tour. We arrived there at 2:12 p.m. By the time we had gotten tickets, it was 2:25. We asked our Pompeii guide what we could see, she pointed out a couple items and told us we would have to run. So ultimately we had 35 minutes in Pompeii and saw the coliseum and one body immortalized in time. To say that was a disappointment is an understatement. We had to separate from the rest of the group, because we had to take separate transportation back to the ship. That was the only thing the driver did right is get the separate transportation back so we didn’t miss our ship. To say it was stressful would be an understatement. We took 9 excursions on this vacation 4 with the cruise line and 5 via Viator. Every one of them were great. This one, however, was beyond terrible. I always look for the positive in everything, but on this one the only positive was getting back to our ship.
