Highlights
  • Galleria Borbonica - Galleria Borbonica is situated in Vico del Grottone 4, 100 meters from Plebiscito Square. Until a few years ago it was a veterinary laboratory, now this is the entrance of the Bourbon Tunnel. A staircase with 8 ramps, 33 yards deep descending into the belly of the Chiaia district in Naples. The second entry is in Via Domenico Morelli 40, through the crosswalk of ‘Quick parking’.

The Bourbon Tunnel was built in 1853 by Ferdinand II of Bourbon, who, concerned about the outbreak of a rebellion, asked for an escape from the Royal Palace to the barrack in Via della Pace, now Via Morelli. The work was however not completed and, during the second World War, the Tunnel was used by residents of the area as a military hospital, later becoming the Hall Judicial Deposit. The war left its mark even in the subsoil.

Absolutely worth visiting - A route that tells a piece of history of Naples, from water tanks to air raid shelter to the depot of seized vehicles. Definitely one of the most impressive visits I have made. The tours are guided and you will spend with the guides a beautiful hour and a half. So it's worth it if you're in Naples? Absolutely! Ps the guides are really super good and step by step they will make you go back in time. Thank you.

Travelling in the past helps to reflect - The visit was very interesting, lasted an hour and made us think a lot. We have chosen the standard route recommended for those who do not suffer from claustrophobia, there are in all 4 routes I think this is the easiest one to do. Lucrezia, our Guide very good at explaining and telling us the story of Naples. Recommendation

The other side of war: journey underground and into the souls of survivors - The visit was exciting and I largely credit Stefano, our Guide. He was exhaustive, witty, his anecdotes amused us and even moved us. You can see how much he loves his job. This experience will remain a beautiful memory of Naples in my heart

I didn’t like it - For my part if you like old cars and World War II it’s good for you, but for me it’s uninteresting , second class ticket I couldn’t even see the pool, plus he doesn’t speak a word of French I didn’t understand anything
