Additional Information

This expedition will provide a snapshot of this city’s rich diversity in three distinct zones including: a scenic drive along the waterfront to witness the expansive bay from Posillipo and Mergellina; a leisurely walk through the luxuriant monumental district covering Plebiscito square, the Royal Palace, and the San Carlo Theater; a journey along Spaccanapoli, the ancient Greek-origin district. The ancient Greek philosopher, Homer, in his epic Odyssey, narrates the journey of Ulysses to the Italian shores. Upon nearing these waters, he encountered the mermaids who tried to lure the seafarers with their bewitching songs, intending to kill them later. Ulysses, having been forewarned by the enchantress Circe, safeguarded his crewmen with wax earplugs and bound himself to the ship’s mast, enabling him to withstand the charm of the sea beings: one of whom, the mermaid Parthenope made her home on the small islet of Megaride, upon which stands the Castle dell’Ovo. This is the origin of Napoli’s alternate name, Partenope.

Excellent and outstanding. - Of all of the tours I’ve taken, Alexandro, our tour guide was unquestionably the best. Alexandro brought so much knowledge of his country….Naples. He provided a wealth of information about the history and cultural traditions of Naples. Alexandro and Ivan were yso gracious and considerate of my husband who has physical limitations. We saw many aspects of Naples in a comfortable setting. This tour with these two individual was excellent. I would highly recommend these two gentlemen any day of the week. Your experience with them will be a memorable experience. Thanks Guys, Sandra

Good place to start - Great overview of Naples, even in the rain. Serena, the guide and Dino, the driver did a great job of navigating the city and pointing out the main features. They also gave us some referrals to good restaurants close to our hotel.

It was great day being shown around Naples. - We were lucky enough to have both Amedeo as our driver and Serena as our guide. They took us to all sorts of points of interest by auto and by foot. In the process they showed us amazing views. It was a pleasure to be with them and to have them show us their city of which they were obviously very proud. Thanks Amedeo and Serena.

Naples, a city waiting to be discovered - I came to Naples at the beginning of September with my mother and my 3 year old son; we chose this trip to discover some of the beauties of Naples and it was perfect for us, because it wasn't too long (about 3 hours) as we also had a small child. At the agreed meeting place we were welcomed with great kindness by Amedeo and Francesco who immediately made us feel at ease and gave us unforgettable hours. We really appreciated their courtesy, helpfulness and the passion with which they carried out their service.

An amazing tour with Napoli City Vision - Between reaching shore after our Procida trip and catching the evening train to Rome, we arranged a tour of Naples with Napoli City Vision. Our driver, Amedeo, showed us the most beautiful spots, narrowest alleys and wonderful views. He knew so much about his city: we got a good taste of current Napoli and learned a lot about its history. Next time we’ll stay longer and Napoli City Vision will be the first ones we call.

First Bad Experience - I can not tell you how upset I was about this tour. I followed the pickup instructions on the website which was apparently different that what was on my booking. The operator sent an email the day before, but I was a sea and not able to receive. There was no operator contact information on the website. Viator customer service said that they had made contact with the operator and that he would call me to establish a pickup location- this call did not occur. I went to the other pick up location and waited in there in the pouring rain, but no one came back to get me nor did they call… Very disappointed in the support I received… This has been my only bad experience with Viator…
