Its fame is usually associated with the eruption of 79 AD, with which the Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum entered history, destroyed and at the same time made immortal by lava, ash and lapilli. The Vesuvius tour starts from an altitude of 1000 m., on the north side and lasts about 2 hours: together with a specialized local guide, you will walk along a path that leads to the top of the crater. Here it will be possible to admire the southern part of the Gulf of Naples, the Sorrento Coast, Capri and Pompeii from the panoramic terrace of the chalet “La Capannuccia”, During the tour, thanks to several stops along the way, the specialized and EXCLUSIVE guide will describe and illustrate the various eruptions, the fumaroles, the crater and the transformations during the last eruptions, focusing on the eruption of 79 AD and consequently on the cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum. Once you reach the top, at the end of the big cone path it will be possible to stay longer than the visit.

A wonderful volcanic moment - We were well taken care of by the entire attentive team throughout the excursion. It was perfect. We were all delighted with the explanations and the orca everything came out, it was magical. Many thanks to Gennaro and his team.

FANTASTIC VOLCANO VISIT - A really enjoyable and interesting visit to Vesuvius aided by the excellent Raffaella who gave Sam, my son, and I a wonderful insight not only to the volcano and the surrounding areas but the broader historical events of the time and time spent by Raffaella in Scilly via Mount Etna as well.
Certainly, I would recommend the tour and the site visit as the in depth knowledge makes the visit even more worthwhile - rather than wandering around and guessing to what actually happened and the intricacies of the site.
