Alessia best instructor! - We had the best experience on the tour! The guide Alessia was so informative and enthusiastic and was able to make us beginner horse riders feel so comfortable. It was nice to feed and groom the horses before riding them, and she was very good at instructing us and teaching us how to ride properly. The scenes were amazing along the ride. Alessia was kind enough to show us beautiful parts of Ostia Antica and provide us recommendations upon the rest of our travels. 10/10!

Beautiful day with the horse and not just on horseback - Beautiful experience! We arrived around 10.30 and, after feeding, brushing and learning about the horses, we started the tour in the pine forest at around 1.30pm. Perfect experience even for those who, like me, had never ridden a horse. Alessia, Pietro and all the girls at the riding school were extremely helpful, as well as being competent and very nice.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ x10 (long review but please read through all of it) - My rides (yes rides) with Cavilieri do Gaia were absolutely incredibly! The highlight of my trip to Italy. I am a strong intermediate rider and look to take horse tours any time I am abroad. I found this tour on trip advisor and then looked at the company’s instagram place. The horses looked well taken care over, the scenery was beautiful, and the tour took you through an archaeological park. I booked immediately. The company owner, Alessia, was amazing! Incredibly responsive to questions from the beginning and detailed in how to get to the meeting location. On the day of my tour (Monday), my Uber driver didn’t understand my English very well and dropped me off at the wrong location about twenty minutes away. Instead of telling me to figure it out, Alesia went out of her way to drive, find me, and pick me up! I was so grateful because most tour operators would not do something like that. In the car, Alessia asked about my experience with horses and I told her about how I rehabbed my own horse at home. She explained that some of her horses are also rescues and she rehabs them too! When we got to Alessia’s ranch, it became apparent how much she loves and takes care of her horses, which is so important to me. All of her horses have 24/7 access to food, water, and shelter if needed and she’s knows each of their personalities. Even though I was late, there was no rush and we took our time meeting the horses, grooming them, and feeding them. When it came to the actual ride, I was given a beautiful Irish sporthorse—Red. He was absolutely perfect! Smart, confident, and responsive, and he rode like a dream. Our morning ride took us through a pine forest, a sea of tall grass filled with wildflowers, poppies, and dandelions (think scenes from gladiator when he’s walking through the grass), and ending with a stop a beautiful little restaurant where we could tie up the horses in the shade. Along the ride, Alessia gave a wonderful tour talking about the history of Ostia, the archaeological park, and how important Ostia was as a center of trade and commerce. We returned back to the ranch and I thought that my tour was finished, but Alessia called another guide who worked at the ranch and offered a second ride of the day with several of her students and the other guide, Pietro. It was great to meet her students and her friends who all spoke so highly of Alessia and her horses. I had Carin for the second ride, a beautiful 17.1 H grey. The second ride took us through another part of the park and Roman roads, and due to a recent shoulder injury, I split off with Pietro to go at a slower pace since I cannot gallop on sometimes uneven terrain at the moment. Pietro was an excellent guide and told me about his time at the ranch, some more history of Ostia, and about the horses. Once we finished at the ranch, taking care of the horses, and locking up, Alessia invited me to come back for another ride later in the week and Pietro was kinda enough to take me back to my hotel to get my luggage and then drive me into the center of Rome. The whole experience was incredible from start to finish and I am in awe of the kindness and generosity that I was shown. I am so grateful to have been able to spend an entire day with her horses and am planning on coming back to Italy specifically to ride with her again. Alessia- thank you so much for everything!

Beautiful historical trail ride - Such an amazing experience! Alessia was an incredible guide in sharing history of Rome and Ostia, as well as teaching us about animal care and creating a bond with the horses before we started our trail ride. Really beautiful trail, I had a wonderful time with my sister both of us were new to horse riding and felt so comfortable on the trail! If you have time I highly recommend this excursion, a great start at a small local coffee shop right outside the train station and truly wonderful trail ride with such a knowledgeable guide!

Perfect experience in Roma - This was unforgivable experience with the horses. Me and my partner got to know and truly connect with the horses before we got to ride them. Overall this is one of the unique experiences everyone should definitely try and they won’t regret. :)
