“mini” Gobi

Elsen Tasarkhai - We’ll drive to Elsen Tasarkhai sand dunes (“mini-Gobi”) and walk around the sand dunes to take photos. Visit the nomad family to see their lifestyle and taste dairy products. After lunch, we’ll hiking in the sand dunes.

Erdene Zuu monastery

Erdene Zuu Monastery - We’ll drive to Kharkhorin, the ancient capital of Mongolian Empire from 13th centuries. There, we’ll visit Erdene Zuu (Hundred treasures) monastery and local museum where we can explore incredible historical sites of ancient Empires of Stone and Bronze Ages.

Khogno Khan Uul National park

Khugnu Tarna - We’ll drive to Khogno Khan Uul National Park. It’s a unique place with many different forms of landscape. Near the splendid mountain, Khogno Khan, we’ll visit the nomad family and get introduced to their lifestyle and taste dairy products. Then, we’ll climb up to the mountain to see the splendid view and Ovgon temple ruins.

Khugnu Tarna - After breakfast, we’ll have an hour of Bactrian camel riding and visit a lake near the Khugnu Khan mountain. After lunch, we’ll drive back to Ulaanbaatar.

On this journey, you have the chance to meet original nomad families and discover their way of life while lodging in an extra ger (yurt). You can have a look at yaks and different creatures. This exploration includes a Unesco heritage site; the Orkhon Valley, a renowned national park named ‘mini-gobi’, which is a miniature Gobi-style environment blending mountains, woodlands and a desert-like landscape into one place. A significant highlight of the trip is visiting Kharkhorin city’s ruins, formerly a hub for politics, economy, administration and religion, playing a prominent role in world trade history with notable influence on the Silk Road. Activities like horse and camel riding and hiking will certainly add fun to your journey.
