Best Community Tour - We had a great time tasting fruits and visiting the locals and meeting with the leader. We had the opportunity to immersed ourselves in the community. Cesar was the best tour guide. He did well informing us on the history of Peru and having a special surprise for my bday. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to meet the locals and shop at a local market.

Highly recommended trip to world unknown to tourists. - Visits to Soup kitchen, market, school, actually speaking with a number of people. The guides were outstanding. The views were beautiful. A probing look into a world tourists don’t see. (As a matter of fact, my guess is most middle income Peruvians don’t either.) A very brave and determined volunteer at the soup kitchen.

Gabby is the best! - Gabby is fantastic! A wonderful guide and we learned a lot about the real Lima. It’s wild to realize Lima is larger than London or NYC.

If you want to understand a little more about people of Peru, do this tour. - Thank you Nataly for this amazing 3 hours. There was not one minute we didn‘t „enjoy“. All this information and all the insights you gave to us, amazing. With this tour we feel like we got closer to your life, the life of Peru’s people. And ofcourse closer to your wonderful food. Thank you so much. 100% recommended.

Sensitive, authentic opportunity to meet wonderful people in the poorer parts of Lima. - Although we were concerned that there may be a lack of sensitivity in choosing this tour, we were overwhelmed by how wonderful it was. We had a private tour with Stefano and met wonderful people in the marketplace, who were delighted to visit with us, and we also met an amazing woman who was responsible for creating and managing a soup kitchen. We learned about the challenges in this neighborhood caused by the pandemic and about many of the real problems they face. All of this during breakfast graciously served in the very simple home of this family. The tour was conducted with every attention to sensitivity and safety, and we cannot recommend it highly enough. Stefano was the perfect guide and himself lived in a similar neighborhood.

Best Tour Ever - We spent two days with Edwin from Haku Tours. The first day we saw the “nicer’ sides of Lima and the second day was the Pyramids and Shanty Town tour. The Shanty town tour was eye opening! Edwin first took us to the market in the Shanty Town and then onto a one room school in the area, run by volunteer mothers. The children performed a Xmas song for us and we performed one for them. The soup kitchen was right next door and we all made some purchases at a little grocery store for additional supplies for the kitchen. Edwin was so informative about life in a Shanty Town and appreciative of our support. Highly recommend this tour!!!!

Hope springs eternal. - Whatever the world gives you, there is still hope. Soup kitchens to electricity, to walls replacing dumps, the madam president does it all.

An Unexpected Highlight Truly Educational - This was one of the most educational tours I have ever taken. It shined a light onto a side of the Peruvian life that not many people are aware of. It provided insight and meaning and was the best way I could have ended my trip. The tour guide and members of the community were friendly, giving, and interested in sharing their stories and learning about mine. Highly recommended.

Great way to see the real life. - Gabby was very passionate about this tour and explained everything very well. We visited a market and soup kitchen only. We thought we would have more of an opportunity to see how they lived up close vs. from a distance.
