We’ll observe how it has evolved over the years. This street leads to the Plaza Mayor of Lima, which has been recognized as a cultural heritage site since 1990.

  • Basilica and Convent of Santo Domingo, Lima - Surrounding the Plaza, you’ll find the Cathedral, the Government Palace, and the Municipal Palace. The next stop is the Santo Domingo Convent, which boasts well-preserved Sevillian gardens and a historic library. This convent was once home to the Universidad de San Marcos, the first university in the Americas. There will be an opportunity to visit the convent’s tower for a spectacular view of Lima, subject to availability.

After visiting the Santo Domingo Convent, you’ll proceed to the San Francisco Convent to explore the Catacombs, which served as the first cemeteries in the country during the colonial era.
