- Mercado N 2 de Surquillo - Local market in Surquillo: We will begin our adventure in this colorful and friendly local market in Surquillo District. Be ready to taste different kinds of exotics fruits, coming from different parts of the country like the coast, the jungle and the Andes. Of course, we won’t leave this local market without trying the most representative dish of Lima called “Ceviche”. But this time, you will have a unique version of ceviche called “Ceviche with Cushuro” (Cushuro is a seaweed from the lakes and rivers located at high altitudes in the Andes it was considered a delicacy by our ancestors). Last but not least, we will taste a delicious “Causa Rellena” which is made with yellow smash potatoes and fill up with vegetables and shredded chicken.
- Santiago de Surco - Local Market in Surco: After tasting different samples of food in the earlier market now we arrive at Santiago de Surco Market, it was very well-known by locals and visitors since the colonial days till now. Its reputation is well-known among people that have a great interest in rainforest food and fresh exotic fruit juices. So, this will be a good opportunity to try a delicious “Juanes de Pollo” or “Chaufa de Cecina” typical dishes from the forest prepared with authentic and organic ingredients from the Amazon.

- Jr. García y García 940 - Vineyard Ugarelli: The Ugarelli vineyard located in Surco, is one of the few that still maintains its customs, traditions and cultural fervor, so it celebrates the Grape Harvest Festival, recognized worldwide as “Vendimia”, the same that has been held in our district since 1938.
Ugarelli is dedicated to the production of young dry, semi-dry and sweet wines. On the other hand, the production of Pisco and Macerated wines is almost an obligation for a Peruvian winery.

Fantastic experience! - We had a fantastic day with Gabby. She is so welcoming and friendly and makes the tour both informative and fun. Gabby took us to two local markets, two restaurants and a winery. We tried a lot of Peruvian dishes as well as fresh fruit all of which was incredibly tasty! She picked us up at our hotel and was on time and organized. I would take this tour again with Gabby on my return to Peru!

Stefano was an attentive... - Stefano was an attentive and knowledgeable tour guide. He is passionate about Peruvian food and history. We learned a lot about Peruvian fruits, vegetables and Pisco.

Eating and learning of a high order - The tour was worth every moment and dollar we spent on it. It was a memorable educational experience that gave us a good sense of the food of ordinary people. The historical background created excellent context and increased our appreciation for the food we enjoyed. Our guide, Estefano, is a walking encyclopedia regarding both food and culinary aspects and the historical background as well. The company was a pleasure to deal with and is serious about their sustainability ethos. We recommend the company and tour without reservation.

Great local food tour - I just went on this tour with Stefano and it was wonderful! I was the only person on the tour so I got a super personalized experience. We went to two markets in different areas of town where real locals were shopping and eating and tried many delicious foods. I learned so much about Peruvian food and history and ate until I could burst. Since the wine shop was closed on Sunday I got a little tour of Barranco at the end instead with very interesting information on the murals and history. I was very happy to get out of the normal tourist spots and try new things.

Great oversight into Liman food & drink - Great tour - Junior was a fabulous guide, and Antonio a calm & safe driver. An insight into where & what Limans eat (& drink). No hard sell, but fantastic food and lots of information. Particularly loved Juniors patience when answering my many questions about fruit & veg that I wasn’t familiar with. Thanks!!

Great, yummy, easy family tour - We had a great time eating our way through the markets while hearing context for what we were seeing at consuming. After days of hiking in the mountains, this was an easy, fun, informative, yummy activity.

As soon as I meet Gaby... - As soon as I meet Gaby and Cesar, I felt one of thier friend 😁
They are funny happy and so was the tour, they shared thier knowledge about the local fruit and vegetables and of course the local dishes.
Also Hector the driver drove very calm (unlike the other local drivers 🤣)
I had an amazing time :)
