Spend the day here! Lots to see and hear - An absolute treasure for State of Alabama and for our country. We were blown away by the presentation inside and out. The self-guided tour of the battleship USS Alabama and the submarine, USS Drum were informative, interactive and well presented. As a proud American, it really makes you appreciate the sacrifices of our men and women who served in the armed services in defense of this nation. There were even retired Navy and Air Force personnel onboard to impart their stories in action. Don’t miss this destination and give yourself plenty of time to see it all. Four hours at a minimum.

Family hands on fun - Family of 4 (2 adults, kids 9 and 11). We arrived at 9am with no crowds. When we left close to noon there was a line of cars waiting to get in and a line waiting to buy tickets. Go early! My kids liked the deck stuff best as they could climb and touch more. Inside it was more looking into rooms. Everything is very spread out (Alabama, sub, planes, tanks etc) so it didn't seem too crowded though do follow the tour arrows as it was frustrating when people didn't as you're trying to pass each other on areas there is not really room to do so.

Nice, educational exhibit and presentation of the battleship and so much more. - This is a great floating historical museum attraction. It's self-guided and very interesting. Be prepared for several flights of narrow, steep, open rung stairs if you want to see the decks below. It's truly like a self-sufficient small town for 2,500 sailors... complete with barber shop and much more. The building before you enter the USS Alabama has planes, helicopters, and vehicles from the military to view. There's also a gift shop at the exit of the exhibits on your way back to the parking lot where there are a few more military planes and vehicles on display.

Great self guided tour…took us 3 hours - Tour route was a bit funky but once we turned it into a scavenger hunt, it became part of the fun. It took us about 3 hours reading about 10% maybe…

BIG BOAT! - The tour of the "boat" was unbelievable...as you walk thru the different areas and watch the different videos you think to yourself and say that generation of men and women could never be repeated! The sacrifices and time spent away from your family I just can't imagine. ..all of the technology and engineering that went into building and designing the ships and how fast they were produced is just unbelievable!!! God bless the "GREATEST GENERATION " for what we have today!

Great day trip - The battleship is awesome! Museum inside was really interesting with WWII german and Japanese artifacts and what life was like for sailors during that era. The submarine was accessible and also very interesting how sailors could stay in such cramped quarters! Aircraft inside the building were also very interesting! We saw everything in about 3 hours… We drove over from our hotel in Fort Walton beach, which took about 1.75 hours. Great Day trip!!
