Overnight stay with jata and lanang - great experience! - Thank you to jata and Lanang for their hospitality on the mountain. Fantastic experience walking up and then staying over to see both the sunset and sunrise. We were served both dinner and breakfast and were able to take in the breathtaking views.

Camping on Mt Batur - an excellent experience - Firstly, this was a very organised service. We arranged everything via WhatsApp in advance from Australia, and it all worked out perfectly. We had arranged to be picked up from the ferry and the driver, Ari, was waiting for us with a sign when we arrived. The same driver also took us to our hotel post hike and looked after our luggage overnight whilst we were on the hike. Ari drove us to the base of Mt Batur where we met our guide Yon who was waiting with hiking poles and rain poncho (just in case). The hike was great and the distance is not too long. There are some steeper areas and loose gravel/rock, but it is very achievable. There are 3 rest stops on the way, if needed. Make sure you leave early enough so you don’t miss sunset. Yon was a great guide, assisting with my bag, making lots of conversation and making sure we got to the top for sunset, he also took lots of photos and videos at sunset and sunrise. He was very kind and accommodating, and he made it a very enjoyable experience for us. The food was very good - first a snack of a hot drink, chocolate bar and fruit, followed by vegetable soup, chicken and rice. The tent was already pitched for us and the sleeping bag, mat and pillow was provided. We took our own inflatable pillows and sleeping bag liners, but you really don’t need to. We enjoyed a campfire, hot drinks and some music with the 3 other overnight hikers and 2 other tour guides. We woke up early before 5am to the sound of other hikers arriving, but we didn’t need to get up as the tents are placed in prime position for sunrise. Breakfast was a boiled egg, fruit, banana sandwich and hot drink. Which we enjoyed while sitting and soaking up the view. It wasn’t too cold overnight or in the morning, we had long clothes and a puffer jacket, but you could probably just layer up. Overall it was a great experience, overnight camping is definitely worth it if you have the time. We were very happy with the service, organisation and our guide. Thank you!

Sunset and sunrise experience - Camping made our experience; not only is seeing sunset and sunrise incredible, but going up and down at once would have been tough. The Guides were incredible, would 100% recommend this experience.

Dreamlike sunset hike with CARIK on Mount Batur - We did the sunset hike to Mount Batur with guide Carik this week and were absolutely thrilled. Carik is a very nice, friendly and helpful guide who also speaks extremely good English. The communication and the whole trip was unbeatable. I can only recommend everyone to visit Mount Batur at sunset instead of sunrise, as there were only 7 people on the summit in the evening, whereas every morning there are 500!!!! people are. All in all, I would gladly award 6 stars and will never forget the experience.

Highly Recommend Bagus Tours with Carik! - We did the overnight 2D1N camping tour on Mt Batur with Carik as our guide. Carik was absolutely awesome, great english and knowledge on the local area. He talked and showed us through the local lifestyle, from agriculture, to lifestyle. Pointing out local plants and explaining what they are and how locals can use them. We had a tent for the two of us (couple). The food was delicious and great. There is a hunt with outside shelter if needed. Campfire at night. Would recommend. Overall, anyone can do this walk. It's not too hard nor does altitude kick in.

Sunrise/Sunset - Highly Recommend - Kliwan was an excellent guide. Very friendly and took great pictures. We didn’t want to wake up so early (most tours start at 1:30a pickup) so we did the sunset/sunrise package. The tour started from DPS airport which was convenient to be picked up directly after landing in Bali as well. You can never predict the weather, but the sunset was beautiful despite a lot of clouds. But the sunrise is definitely the better view with the sun rising out of the ocean horizon. We like to hike and camp and thought the camping accommodation was basic, but sufficient. I may have brought a sleeping bag liner, pad, and a blow up pillow next time. They provide a sleeping bag, pad, and pillow, but I I like a little more cushion in the pad/pillow. But if you’re tight on space, you definitely don’t need it. The hike was tougher than I thought, but not technical. There are hundreds of people that do it every day so even beginning hikers can do it. But prepare yourself for a short, but tough climb. It can be accomplished by anyone, just build in time for lots of breaks on the way up.

5 star accommodation with a million dollar view. - Was assigned to Cariq as my guide for the 2D1N camping trip. The hike up was relatively easy and Cariq was extremely patient as my guide! He was very informative and knowledgeable about the mountains and the balinese culture which made the hike a lot more fun! Upon reaching the peak, the tent was neatly prepared for us and it was clean! The sleeping bags were clean as well so you dont need to bring one with you up the mountain. There werent much campers when i was there. Just me and another group of 3. You will get to sit around the campfire at night and get an amazing view of the night sky. There were so many stars and it was so peaceful. I definitely had the best seat for sunset AND sunrise since there will be 500+ people on the mountain for sunrise. You dont need to have to fight for a good spot since you will be able to catch the sunrise from your tent! I highly recommend this package and Cariq as well. He is a gem!
