Highlights
  • U.S. Highway 89 - Hidden within this scenic route is a treasure trove of American history! That’s why Route 89 is known as The Heritage Highway. Picture yourself as a pioneer witnessing this landscape for the first time. It’s no surprise that explorers, traders, sinners, and saints have been drawn to this area for centuries!
  • Bryce Amphitheater - The most frequented section of the park is the Bryce Amphitheater. It features 5 viewpoints:

Sunrise
Sunset
Bryce
Inspiration Points
Paria View
This area boasts the highest concentration of hoodoos and some of the most popular canyon hikes.

Photography enthusiasts, star-gazers, and hikers of all levels are captivated by the Bryce Amphitheater!

  • Bryce Canyon Scenic Drive - This is an extremely popular way to explore all that Bryce Canyon has to offer.

The scenic drive spans 18 miles to Rainbow and Yovimpa Points, the southernmost and highest points of Bryce Canyon.

Along the way, you’ll hear stories about the people who discovered Bryce Canyon and helped it become a National Park.

  • Fairyland Point - Here, you’ll get your first glimpse of Bryce Canyon’s famous hoodoos. You’ll learn about their formation, their names, and their role in the conservation efforts of the national park system.
  • Mossy Cave Trail - This is one of the most tranquil hikes at Bryce Canyon, though it’s technically outside the park gates.

Mossy Cave Trail allows you to walk on the canyon floor without a steep descent.

  • Scenic Byway 12 - Welcome to Scenic Byway 12, also known as “a journey through time.” If you need to stretch your legs, there are several scenic turnouts just ahead on our right. Otherwise, we’ll reach Bryce Canyon City in about 15 minutes.
  • Red Canyon Visitor Center - Red Canyon offers numerous excellent hiking trails where you can see hoodoos, ponderosa pines, high plateaus, and more. There are also mountain bike trails, paved bicycle paths, and miles of ATV trails.
  • Red Canyon Arch - These arches are often called the “Gateway to Fairyland,” or the unofficial gateway to Bryce Canyon National Park. Be sure to slow down or stop at one of the pull-over spots on the right to admire this grand entrance up close.
  • Bryce Canyon City - This is the main road into Bryce Canyon National Park, and there’s no shortage of activities here!

Bryce Canyon City is home to Ruby’s Inn, which has been around since the early 1900s. Ruby’s isn’t just a hotel, though.

Ruby’s includes several properties:

a general store
three restaurants
an “old town” mini-mall with gift shops
an ice cream parlor, and
a working gem mine!

They also offer many unique ways to see the park:

horseback riding tours
guided ATV tours
bike rentals, and
even helicopter rides
