Highlights

Sirromet is a family-owned winery located in the scenic Mount Cotton area, just a short drive from Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Sirromet’s modern facilities provide food and wine enthusiasts with the ultimate winery experience. The story began when Terry Morris, a Queensland entrepreneur and businessman, attended a dinner party in Victoria with friends. Terry mentioned he had tasted an excellent wine from Queensland’s Granite Belt, to which his Victorian friends laughed and said, “There’s no such thing as a great wine from Queensland.” This sparked Terry’s vision for Sirromet. He selected land in the Granite Belt Region, known for its unique combination of rich soil, high altitude, and cool climate, ideal for grape growing. In 2000, they opened their doors to the public. By combining traditional methods with new technology, Sirromet produces high-quality wines recognized globally.

This family-run establishment, conveniently reachable from both Brisbane and the Gold Coast, embodies a fusion of modern facilities, tantalising dining options, educational wine tours, exclusive tastings and a perpetually active event calendar. The inception of Sirromet traces back to a social gathering in Victoria where its founder, Terry Morris, sang praises of a wine from Queensland’s Granite Belt, only to be met with derision. This spurred Terry’s ambition to establish Sirromet within the fertile landscape of the Granite Belt Region – an ideal vine-growing setting, and in 2000, they commenced public operations. Today, Sirromet, in the spotlight of worldwide recognition, takes pride in their more than 880 awards, a testament to their luxurious wine assortment.
