Beautiful and informative - It was a beautiful plantation with lots of things for us to do. We loved all the informative talks but best of all we absolutely loved the house tour because our guide was wonderful!! Ed Hanson was awesome! We loved hearing his stories and wished we could've kept going on a longer tour!!!

A great day trip! - This trip to Boone Hall was well worth the trip. The main house tour runs every half hour and last about 20 min. It explains the past owners and progression of the land. There are a few tours that are very near by to get to in time. The Gullah Culture was my favorite, the tour host was very knowledgeable and keeps you captivated. The tractor ride was a very nice tour of the plantation with a knowledgeable and funny tour guide.

Fun and educational morning! - We arrived as the plantation was open. The crowd was low as we had rain in the forecast but we enjoyed 4 hours of nice weather with great tours and beautiful gardens. Don't miss the Gullah presentation!

Great Insight Into History! - This was a great tour and plantation. It was very interesting and the tour guides were very engaging and informative! We had a great experience. It’s a working farm and the buildings are authentic. Would highly recommend!

A Glance into History - Boone Hall is a beautiful plantation. While it is not a plantation in the sense that the house was not built until the 1930s, the house and the grounds are incredible. It is still a working farm and it is very much worth a visit. The driveway with the live oaks is iconic, but that’s not the only reason to go. The formal gardens are beautiful, and there is a wonderful history of enslaved people and their impact on the local economy along slave row.

Worth the trip - needs 3-4 hours - Worth the trip: I Went to Boone Plantation today and it was lovely. The tour guides were friendly and informative, and the Gullah presentation was great too! I spent a good 3 hours there and it was plenty of time, but I’m a fast tourist, so I would plan for at least 3-4 hours when you go! Most tours are self guided, but the house tour has to be scheduled, and the farm tour has a couple safari type buses coming every 15-20 minutes to take you around the whole farm. There are 2 gift shops on site and one includes a little sandwich shop. It was really cool to ride around on the farm and get the whole history of the plantation. There was even a building with restrooms and movies going on throughout the day - The Notebook, North and South, and Queen, all which were filmed at Boone Hall. I’m so thankful I chose to come down a day early for my vacation so I could do this part of my trip on its own, instead of squeezing it in between my other 2 activities (FYI: this was booked as part of the Tri-Combo tour through Charleston Tours and Events- full review later, once I have attended the other 2 activities)

Wonderful visit - After having considered many options for a plantation to visit, we opted for this one because of its affordable cost, beauty, and options for sharing information especially on slavery and the Gullah culture. We found the beauty of the grounds to be amazing. Being able to walk freely around the plantation was enjoyable. As you visit each of the original slave quarters, a different topic about the history of slavery is provided. The tour of the home is limited to a few rooms but nice to see. This definitely a great choice.
