Great day out - more like a friend than a guide - Well what a great day out with my guide, Sukanya. I booked this with Lokafy who aim to put travellers in touch with people passionate about their cities and head off for time together on a more impromptu day than a tour.
We met just after 10am and Sukanya was so lovely it was more like going out with a friend for the day than being taken around. We caught around six auto-rickshaws during our time together and started at the Iskcon (Jain) temple, then just wandered around old streets, through some local shops then to the Bandra fort, up to the lovely Basilica of Our Lady of the Mount, more commonly known as Mount Mary Church and wandered along Chapel Street Promenade. Finally had a lovely vegetarian lunch and a final ride back to the hotel. Was pretty dusty with all the open rickshaws and ears singing a little from all the car horns!
Highly recommend this way of getting to see a city and great for anyone wanting to see a different side to Mumbai.
