  • Nagoya Castle - Originally constructed in 1612, this splendid moated complex includes highlights such as its splendid 48-meter-tall main tower. Apart from being historically important castle, it also has some unique points (including Godzilla connection), and is located right in central Nagoya.
  • Atsuta Shrine - With nine million visitors annually, The Atsuta Shrine is widely considered the most important Shinto shrine in Japan, was established in the first century AD. It’s most famous for its preserved Imperial insignia, the “grass-mowing sword” (kusanagi-no-tsurugi), one of only three in the country.
  • Hosho-in (Osu Kannon) - One of Nagoya’s most popular districts is Ōsu, much visited for its many fine temples and shrines. One of the most important is the Buddhist temple of Ōsu Kannon (Kitanosan Shinpuku-ji Hōshō-in), built in the early 14th century in an area that turned out to be prone to flooding and moved to its current location around 1612. Rebuilt in the 1970s, this magnificent building is home to the famous red paper lantern hanging from the ceiling of the main hall to which pilgrims attach their prayers
  • Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology - Built in the birthplace of the Toyota Group, the museum preserves the original early 20th century plant as industrial heritage. All sorts of actual machinery and dynamic exhibitions as well as real-life demonstrations by operators are available to paint a picture of how automobile manufacturing works. The facility has earned a favorable reception by overseas visitors for the clear way you can learn all about Toyota and its vehicles through the senses.
  • Nagoya City Science Museum - Being one of the largest museums in Japan, Nagoya Science Museum has more than 10,000 objects such as a replica of the Space Shuttle that is life-size and a model of an ancient sea reptile that is 20 meters long. In addition, the planetarium of the museum with a diameter of 35 meters and a projection system that can portray the night sky in incredible details has been consistently voted as one of the top attractions in the city.
  • Nagoya Port - From the acrobatic dolphins, sea lion show, penguin parade, you can discover creatures that live in the ocean’s deepest depths before meeting a fascinating endangered species such as beluga whales, orca killer whales. Boasting the Japan’s largest outdoor tank, the Port of Nagoya Public Aquarium is considered one of Japan’s best aquariums. The aquarium has 12 exhibition areas with over 600 species of marine life on display.
