The Masai Mara is one of Africa’s most famous parks. The wildlife viewing is superb throughout the year. The grassy plains and regular rainfall supports a huge population of herbivores, in turn attracting many predators. All three big cats are relatively easy to see. The yearly wildebeest migration coming through the park is one of the world’s most amazing wildlife spectacles

It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place: the great migration. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (in Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna – lions, cheetahs, jackals, hyenas and vultures.

Going off piste! - "Don't follow me" Don't follow me was on the back of the Toyota 4x4! We soon understood why 🤣. Moses, our guide from Lenchada Safaris was absolutely brilliant! While we followed the roads like everyone else, we occasionally went "off piste" and the sign on the back of his 4x4 told others 'not to follow' because he knew how to read the terrains and let's say, the ride was not smooth but was filled with fun and adrenaline when we were on an off piste chase!!! Our first chase of the trip was to have a rare sighting of one of the big 5s! Leapord! We did 6 nights + 7 days. X2 Masai Mara X1 Nakuru X1 Naivasha X2 Amboseli Quick download, we loved Masai Mara for the chase of the animals and Amboseli for the abundance of elephants and view of Kilimanjaro! We booked a private tour at medium price range and I would definitely recommend paying a little more for at least medium priced accomodations and I'd you can private tour in a jeep! We met with travellers who went in the converted"4x4" mini bus and it's just not the same experience. THE BOOKING Let me start with the booking. I communicated with Alex who is the owner of Lenchada (his wife is the owner of Jockey Tours - effectively one company) Alex was informative and quick to respond. THE GUIDE - MOSES Absolutely brilliant, he went off road where possible which made it fun! He always seemed to know where and when to find the animals and preps you for a photo or video shot. Extremely knowledgeable (like an encyclopedia) He times the great migration perfectly where we waited just over an hour. Apparently other toyr groups had waited up to 4hrs!! THE SAFARI Be prepared for early starts, it's recommended! Animals do not like heat, especially the ones you want to see (Lions, Elephants, Rhinos), so I would follow their agenda. ACCOMODATIONS Were brilliant. We enjoyed all but mostly the hotels in Naivasha because the animals run wild here, we had Zebras visiting our back porch + Amboseli, glamping style tents with beautiful views of Kilimanjaro and I really felt like I was out in the sticks, touching it up to enjoy the natural wonders of this area. It was something out of a movie but overall, in each location, the service was great! Maasai Mara - Mara Jambo Lodge Nakuru - Nakuru lodge Naivasha - Naivasha Sopa lodge Amboseli - Amboseli Lodge Notice - the drives between locations is long but it's totally worth it! Bring a decent camera, at least a compact one. Your mobile phone will not do it justice, at least a camera can try and will produce better! So much to say but I I hope this review encourages you to go on a safari and reason to choose Lenchda!

Well planned safari with great team and accomplishment - Starting from booking, trip and accommodation, everything is smooth sailing. We are family of 3 with 10yo boy traveling with us. When we booked the 6 days safari, we were assisted by Alex, and he is very responsive and accommodative. We were picked up at the airport and dropped off there as well as requested. Moses, our guide is very professional. The ride to all sites were punctual, and when we have extra time, he offered us to visit additional site that is available along our trip between places (Naivasha lake). He also has a very good eye for spotting animals, and goes the extra length to ensure we can get as close as it's safely possible. Our jeep got binoculars available, but in limited number, so I suggest you bring your own. Moses also brings with him a portable wifi, connectivity has never been an issue for us! We stayed for 2 nights in a tented accommodation in Masai Mara (Lenchada camp), 1 night in a hotel in Nakuru (Hillcourt hotel), and another 2 nights in another tented accommodation in Amboseli (Manjaro Tented Camp). The tents are way better beyond my expectations, with comfortable bed, hot water available, working electricity and satisfying food & beverages. The tents are also situated near the park, so you get to see wild animals nearby as well (which is a major plus! We don't feel like we're in danger at all). The trip is very enriching, with the amount of animals that you can see. If you spend a couple extra thousands of Kenya Shillings, you get to visit and interact with the local Masai tribe in Masai Mara, and take a guided walk around the camp in Amboseli and observe animals in the wild up close (elephants, zebras, giraffes etc.) Definitely recommending this to my friends.

Fantastic, 100% recommended - This was my first safari ever and I was not disappointed. I had high expectations but I would have never imagined that we would be able to see so many amazing and beautiful animals from so close. Our guide Dickson was amazing at taking us at the right place at the right time, and he would go miles to run and get as close as possible to the animals. Plus he knew so many things about animals and also Kenya, I learned so much and that was really entertaining. He was also super patient with us and always making sure everything was going well. This was an unforgettable experience and I would recommend to everyone.

Awesome experience! - - Saw four of the Big Five (no Leopards unfortunately). - Accomodations were not luxurious, but really nice nonetheless, especially in Amboseli with a direct view of the Kilimanjaro. - Food was really good. - Our driver, Dickson, was a great guy. He knew a lot about the wildlife and was a really funny dude. All in all, really amazing experience, would definitely recommend it. It's a lot of driving between the three national park sthough, so be prepared for that.

Great experience, professional service - Safari with Lenchada was one of best experiences we have ever had. Communication with Alex was very good, he amended safari itinerary as per my remarks and requests. He also assisted us with purchase of train tickets to Mombassa. Our guide was Peter who made a lot of effort in order to provide us with the best animal spottings. These experiences will be with us for the rest of our lives. Absolutely epic. We were travelling by a new 4x4 Landcruiser which had only 4 safaris before ours. No issues with the car. To the opposite actually because number of other drivers were jelous of Peter's Toyta model. Apparently it was some top notch version of safari Landcruiser. Lenchada is definitely a company worth recommending. You will not regret chosing their services

BOOK IT! - If you’re looking for a sign, this is it, BOOK IT! It was worth every cent. Richard, our tour guide, was the best. He made you feel like you have known each other a life time. He was friendly, knowledgeable, flexible, and went above and beyond to ensure everyone got the safari experience of their dreams. Richie did not give up until we saw the big 5. I joined this group with 8 strangers and left with 8 lifelong friends. I am so glad I did this trip.

Best Safari Trip with the best tour operator and Johny Jackson! - As first timer in Kenya, and made every booking through internet I had my doubt. However I received confirmation from tour operator as soon as I booked it and get all the information needed from them. The whole trip was carefully design to suit everyone needs and suitable for solo travelers as well as those who come with partner, family and group. Our tour guide Mr.Johny Jackson is the BEST tour guide I ever encounter. He make sure everyone is getting the looks at all the animals and ensure we get the best photos and experiences from each locations. Not only that he also ensure that we all comfortable during the long trip from one destination to the other. All the coffee break and great music in the car, it was just a perfect experience for me. I feel so lucky to be with this tour operator and especially Johnny made it so memorable with his knowledge on the safari as well as the best spots to capture the moment. Thank for everything. Really enjoyed this trip. Probably my best trip of 2023.

6 Day Masai Mara, Amboseli and Lake Nakuru Safari - This was a great safari and John our guide and driver was very helpful, easy to deal with, and patient, he is a very safe driver and good spotter of animals. Alex the owner was great to deal with regarding all information and purchasing the tour. The camps at Masai Mara and Amboseli could be better, sure they were budget. In masai mara the power is only on for a select few hrs via generator, the camp is very basic and in Amboseli the wifi wasn't working even though I was told there's wifi. Otherwise it was amazing and many thanks to Lenchada and John for the lifetime experience..

Budget Safari to Masai Mara Kenya - Lenchada uniquely advertised “own a window seat.” However, we were packed into the Land Cruiser (including the middle seats) so this statement was factually untrue (and had been the reason why we selected Lenchada). The organization also tried to downgrade our hotel claiming the more expensive hotel had a conference - when the other passengers balked at this, they eventually booked all of us into the more expensive hotel that was originally advertised. Our Land Cruiser with 300,000 km broke down numerous times over the six days: including a dead battery and no jumper cables in Maasai Mara (requiring other 4x4 trucks to push it) and brake problems (requiring a lengthy delay on our way back to the airport on the final day causing complications with our plans to go to the giraffe centre before we flew out). Our driver was great, we saw a lot of animals because of the driver’s network of other tour guides, and he did his best to navigate the company imposed logistical problems but every day there seemed to be a different set of issues. We wish we had not have booked with this company.
