- Hell’s Gate National Park - Start with a 7:00 AM pick-up from Nairobi. Arrive at the park around 9:00 AM and embark on a 2-hour guided bike tour. Look out for herds of Thompson’s gazelle, eland, zebra, and hartebeest as you ride. Also, keep an eye on the sky, as Hell’s Gate National Park hosts over 100 bird species, including Verreaux’s eagles, augur buzzards, vultures, and swifts.
Continue on foot into the park’s unique gorges, featuring narrow passageways and caves carved into sedimentary rock. After a 1-hour walk, visit a local Maasai community to learn about traditional life and customs in the Great Rift Valley. Then, head to Naivasha Fisherman’s Camp at 1:00 PM for lunch (at your own expense).
- Lake Naivasha - At 2:00 PM, drive to Lake Naivasha for a 1-hour boat tour. Spot hippos lounging just below the water’s surface and observe a variety of birdlife, including African fish eagles, lesser flamingos, African spoonbills, and little grebes. From 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, drive back to your accommodation.
