- Art House Project - The tiny fishing village of Honmura, on the eastern edge of Naoshima, is home to the Art House Project, a collection of abandoned houses and workshops (as well as a temple and a shrine), that have been converted into venues and art installations by artists from Japan and around the world.
The Art Houses are scattered throughout the village, within walking distance of one another. Intersperse your visits with a coffee break or lunch at one of the handful of charming cafes run by a mix of locals and transplants from cities like Tokyo and Osaka.

Best guide on Naoshima! - Sato was an absolutely wonderful guide to help us make the most of our short time on Naoshima. She was so knowledgeable about the history of the island, the museums, and the art work, and was absolutely delightful to spend time with as well! She was so sweet to document our visit and send us photos, and even helped us take advantage of a very special day when Tadao Ando was visiting the island personally and made sure we had the chance to hear him speak and bought us small cards to have him autograph. I cannot recommend Sato enough if you are visiting Naoshima and would like to have a little extra insight into the place and the artwork. She truly went above and beyond for us!

Best guide in Naoshima. - I would like to recommend Yoshiko Sato as the best guide in Naoshima. She l les everything about the island, not only about its history, but also about the places you should visit and the artists on the respective museums. She is very nice, educated, knowledgeable and a great companion too. She demonstrates how much she loves her job by showing everything with enthusiasm.
I strongly recommend to have her as your guide in Naoshima.
She speaks English perfectly.

Happy day on Naoshima - We stayed in Uno and took the ferry across with our guide, Sato, who had lots of stories to tell! The experience overall was superb, with nice weather allowing walks around different art sites. The Chichu museum was excellent and overall we had a great day!

Fantastic day trip to Naoshima Art Island - Our guide Reiko "Ray" was an excellent guide on Naoshima Art Island for our group of 8. Ray met us at Uno station and arranged all of our tickets for the ferry, admission to the many art projects and electric bikes. Ray was very knowledgeable about every aspect at each of the house projects and the museum. She even put up with our sense of Aussie humour and was great company for the whole day taking pictures and finding us a traditional lunch place for Udon noodles. Our group highly recommends Ray and this tour.

Incredible art in an incredible setting! - Sato-san curated a perfect day on Naoshima. She was well-informed, interesting, and very responsive to our requests. We especially enjoyed the Chichu Art Museum, Sugimoto Hiroshi Time Corridors exhibit, and Benesse House Projects. Naoshima is a little difficult to reach, but well worth the effort required!

Excellent tour with Reiko, we loved it - Reiko Takemaru is an excellent guide, she took us to all the places we wanted and more. She is very well prepared, she explained everything perfectly, she knows about art and history. We enjoyed this tour a lot. Amazing!!!

Good tour of Naoshima - Yokosan was very friendly and great in planning our trip to Naoshima. She took us around the museum's and art houses in Honmura and helped us manage our time very well.
