Arrive Airport – Negombo

Negombo - • Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your personal chauffeur guide and transferred to Negombo. (Approx. 30 min. drive). Once at the hotel, spend the day at leisure, relaxing and enjoying the hotel amenities.

Negombo’s beach is notably wide in some areas and is the heartland of Christian Sri Lanka, evidenced by the large churches and ornate Catholic shrines scattered throughout the town and its surroundings. The Dutch established the town as a significant commercial hub, constructing a canal to transport spices, particularly cinnamon, from the interior to the coast for export.

Negombo– Belihuloya

Belihuloya-Haputale

Bambarakanda Falls - Bambarakanda Falls is the tallest waterfall in Sri Lanka, standing at 263 meters, making it the 299th highest waterfall in the world. It is located in Kalupahana in the Badulla District.

St Benedict’s Monastery - Adisham - Adisham Hall, or Adisham Bungalow, is a country house near Haputale in the Badulla District, Sri Lanka. It currently houses the Adisham Monastery of Saint Benedict and contains a relic of St. Sylvester in the chapel.

Lipton’s Seat - Situated atop Poonagala Hill, Lipton’s Seat is one of Sri Lanka’s most stunning viewpoints. Named after the famous tea planter Sir Thomas Lipton, who used this spot to survey his tea plantations, it offers panoramic views of several lakes, the sacred mountain of Weda hiti Kanda, and the Hambanthota harbor on the southern coast.

Haputale- Ella- Haputale (Train Ride)

Ella Rock - This short train journey is one of the most scenic in the country, passing through tea plantations, tunnels, and the nine-arch bridge, a popular attraction in the village of Ella. Hiking to Ella Rock is a great activity for those interested in a more challenging trek than Little Adam’s Peak. It’s best to start early in the morning for breathtaking panoramic views. The hike to the top takes about 2 hours, passing through serene woodlands and tea plantations.

Rawana Falls - Located near the village of Udunuwara in Ella, Rawana Waterfall is a legendary site dating back to the Ramayana era. This beautiful 25-meter-high waterfall is situated near the Ella-Yala road and is especially magnificent during the rainy season. Legend has it that King Ravana kidnapped Princess Sita and hid her in a cave behind the waterfall.

Nine Arches Bridge - Situated between Ella and Demodara railway stations, the nine-arch bridge is one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic bridges. This 99-foot-high bridge is constructed entirely of solid rocks, bricks, and cement, without any steel. Standing underneath and looking up, you can see ‘nine skies’ through the arches, hence its nicknames “Nine Skies Bridge” and “The Bridge in the Sky.” Visitors can walk along the rails and enjoy the surrounding scenery, and you might be lucky enough to see a train crossing the bridge.

Haputale- Wellawaya

Wellawaya - Night walk- Observe nocturnal wildlife in their natural habitat on a guided trail through the surrounding greenery.

Bird watching trail- Spot over 120 species of birds within the traditional farmlands of Jetwing Kaduruketha.

Wellawaya- Gal Oya

Gal Oya National Park - The Crossing - The park is rich in flora and fauna and is home to 32 species of terrestrial mammals. For the more adventurous, combine the drive with a walking safari. Hike through the park with our expert naturalists to see wildlife up close and explore hidden corners.

Gal Oya- Kandy

Gal Oya National Park - The Crossing - Experience the unique opportunity to spot wildlife from the water, the only such experience in Sri Lanka. With some luck, you might see elephants swimming between islands or bathing at the lake’s edge.

Kandy - In the afternoon, enjoy a city tour of Kandy. To Buddhists in Sri Lanka and around the world, Kandy is one of the most sacred sites as it is home to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha. The city tour includes visits to Bahirawakanda Temple, Upper Lake Drive, an art and craft center, a cultural show, and the Kandy Temple.

Kandy

Kandy - This full nature trail covers a 25 km hike, culminating in a breathtaking viewpoint atop Pitakanda Peak, the second highest point in the Hunnasgiriya Mountain range. The view is indescribable and a must-visit for those who enjoy stunning vistas. The entire journey takes about 8 hours round trip from the hotel.

Kandy

Kandy - As all good things come to an end, you will be safely driven to the hotel or airport for your flight back home, carrying sweet memories of your tour with Beyond Escapes!!!
