- Red Fort - Our first stop would be at Red Fort, a UNESCO world heritage site;it was built by the fifth Mughal Emperor Shah Jahanin the year 1639, which is better known as replica of Red Fort of Agra. Delhi’s red Fort was residence of Mughals for nearly 200 years. During the revolt of 1857, the last Mughal Emperor was trailed in this fort and then exiled to Yangon (Formerly known as Rangoon).
The red sandstone work and the vastness of the entire place is bound to mesmerise you and awestruck you. The beautiful parts of red Fort are Rang Mahal (Color Palace), Diwane- E- Aam (Normal Audience Hall) and Diwane-e- Khas (Private audience Hall).Red Fort has been witness of not only Mughal Empire, but also of British Empire.
