Highlights
  • Mississippi River - Navigate the river’s path to arrive at your swampy destination.
  • Barataria Preserve - Embark on a journey that combines the thrill of an airboat adventure with the serenity of a swamp tour. Speed through the waterways before slowing down for photo opportunities. Your local guide, the Captain, will provide an intimate tour. The airboats feature stadium seating, ensuring unobstructed views for all passengers. Every seat offers an excellent vantage point for observing the natural habitat and its inhabitants, including close encounters with alligators. You’ll have the chance to gaze directly into the eyes of these majestic reptiles.

Alligators tend to hibernate during the cooler seasons, yet our knowledgeable captains know their hiding spots. Typically, in winter, the likelihood of spotting an alligator exceeds 50%. In warmer seasons, sightings are guaranteed. Each New Orleans Airboat Tour is distinct, with surprises at every turn. The ecosystems covered include swamps, marshes, and lakes, providing a habitat for a diverse range of wildlife, from Bald Eagles and Pelicans to Ospreys and Owls. The airboats are powered by a robust 454 Chevy Engine, capable of reaching speeds up to 35 mph, and are propelled by a powerful fan that blasts air at speeds over 200 mph. These exhilarating tours skim across shallow waters, accessing areas beyond the reach of conventional boats. The design of these vessels allows for exploration of the swamp’s most secluded regions, inaccessible by land or water. This adventure is truly one of a kind.

Great expoerience in speed and nature - Amazing experience. The Captain was fun and knowledgeable about all aspects of the tour. Although all animal encounters were a little “staged” with marshmallow feeding habits (?) it was a great experience. Driving skills a great ++.

Do this for sure - The boat driver was knowledgeable, he was great at maneuvering the boat, it was fun, entertaining, he know the allogators well, and we held a little alligator. This is one of the best things we did on this trip.

Great tour! - After pickup and transportation, we arrived at the docks. Starting the tour took a little waiting (around 30 minutes) but was definitely worth it! The Guide explained the surroundings, types of land, animals and waterways well. And of course, we saw a lot of alligators, from huge (15ft) to tiny.

Alligators and beauty - Our airboat captain, Rocky, was great! Explained about the differences between canals, marshes, swamps - also talked about other wildlife besides alligators, and the flora as well. Ride was fun!

Small group airboat swamp tour - Our tour guide was absolutely 💯 fantastic! His info about the swamp lands and gators was very interesting and he was amazing with all the wildlife. Truly shows he enjoys and has a love for the animals ❤️ We got to see small and large gators along with several birds and other small creatures while cruising in the marsh lands of the Mississippi. Meeting Fluffy the baby gator was amazing as well...my party and I had a great time and will highly recommend this tour to all who come to New Orleans! 💯 worth every penny!!! Thank you much for the wonderful experience! 😊

Soaked - Bus pickup and origination of this tour was really well organized and efficient. Everyone at the dock was friendly. Our guide was clearly knowledgeable, but was racing other boats, taking turns at full throttle, and skipping the boat across the water, all for 15 mins on either side of tour. We were soaked from head to toe returning to the dock. Dude, i love boating, but we're on vacation with wet hair and underwear to ride home in, today's clothes are not usable, not cool. Ditch the showboating and stick to a safe experience for your guests that highlights the beauty of the swamp, not the boat.
