Highlights
  • 830 N Rampart St - An Intimate Experience in the French Quarter, we are famous for our Shrimp Boils. Step away from the tourist crowds and join us for authentic local dishes and stories. Enjoy this opportunity to experience it as a VIP, with a small group and Mister Gregory himself preparing your meal. The dinner seating features a multi-course dinner, storytelling and LIVE MUSIC. The lunch seating includes a tasting menu and a chat with Mister Gregory about our fishery and food ways (NO LIVE MUSIC AT THE LUNCH SEATING).

The Shrimp Boil Experience might begin with a tasting of fresh caught fish from Lake Pontchartrain or a local blue crab appetizer, then an alligator sausage tasting and a presentation about our wild-caught Gulf shrimp. The big moment is when we present the shrimp, cooked with corn and local sausage, and our special blend of Cajun boil seasonings. Later, we bring out hot towels to clean up and to finish we present a signature dessert and a tasting of New Orleans style chicory cafe au lait.

The food was sooo good. I... - The food was sooo good. I wish he gave recipe cards. The shrimp were big and juicy. I only didn’t eat the corn because it was too mushy. And the alligator sausage was actually really good as well. The music was hilarious. Some of the songs from the 20’s were definitely for adults only.

Shrimp Boil Experience and Cabaret - Outstanding Shrimp Boil Dinner and Cabaret! We are a family of 5 (two grandparents and three grandsons ages 18, 17 and 17). Mr. Gregory was welcoming and friendly and an excellent chef who explained all the ingredients, how he made the food, and the origin of each dish. The food was unique to us and wonderfully delicious. The two cabaret entertainers were fabulous -- great singers, very funny, unique performers and performance, and lots of fun. This was a perfect evening and we highly recommend it for a delicious dinner, fun entertainment, and a great way to experience a part of New Orleans culture!

10/10 will do again - We had such a great time, and the food was amazing! Some of the best we've had in New Orleans. Learning about the history of some of the ingredients and what it was like to grow up in the area was super interesting. We loved the entertainment as well, a unique duo, who were a lot of fun.

You Should Do This! - This was a great experience. My son and I both enjoyed hearing from Chef Gregory about the food and meeting our dinner table companions. The food was great and the music was also wonderful. So much better than a restaurant.

Authentic New Orleans experience not to be missed! - This is our 3rd visit to Mr. Gregory's! It is always a little bit different and always SO SO special. Set up with long tables, which invite you to make friends with your seatmates, there is incredible food and lively entertainment. On this night, members of the Slick Skillet Serenaders performed. Mr. Gregory's right hand man, Bill, who has been with him for years, runs around, serving and filling all our needs! Along with his Shrimp Boil, Mr. Gregory serves up fascinating local history and what he calls "tastings". They are always unique and delicious. This time, we were served a shrimp and crab au gratin appetizer and a surprise of fresh, huge crawfish! What a treat as crawfish have been scarce and tiny this year! Then came the Shrimp Boil!! Gigantic shrimp brought to the surface by the big rain storm the previous day, mixed with vegetables and giant sausages!! SO good!! For dessert, we had an apple cake with a type of fresh whipped cream gently flavored on top. I cannot say enough about this wonderful experience!! Mr. Gregory clearly takes pride in what he serves and loves to share it with you. On your next trip to New Orleans, or even if you are a local, be sure to go see Mr. Gregory!! Reservations required!!
