Highlights
  • Ma On Shan Country Park - Explore the forests and mountains of Hong Kong by foot. The hike leads us uphill through forest, on a romantic trail on which we reach the Ngong Ping Plateau after one hour. The mighty Ma On Shan to the left and Pyramid Hill up front. The views from the edge of the plateau over Sai Kung and the many Islands are breathtaking.
This is also a favorite starting and landing arena for hang gliders.

After taking it all in, it’s time to descend down to Sai Kung Village using one of the ancient trails, the very path villagers used to reach Kowloon on market days carrying goods back and forth over the hill.

The Hike ends at Sai Kung Village.
Here you have the option of returning straight back to the city with your guide, or enjoying the laid-back atmosphere and have lunch in one of the many restaurants on your own.

Additional Information

Inaugurated in November 2009, the Hong Kong Geopark featuring eight prominent geological sites of international significance. This tour takes you to one such site, located in the area of the High Island water reservoir. The journey commences at a spot known for its magnificent rock formations, a result of volcanic activities dating back to 140 million years. Follow the coastal paths carved by waves and weather factors, which leads us to a bay adorned with a picturesque beach. Our next stop is Leung Shuen Wan, home to three ancient Hakka villages where you can still find active fisheries. The sheltered bay in the area is perfect for fish farming. We will indulge in a Seafood feast at a restaurant in this area. Post-lunch, we explore the impressive Tin Hau Temple of Leung Shuen Wan. Even today, modern fishermen and their families continue to offer their prayers here before setting sail. The final part of our tour involves a scenic ride back to Sai Kung aboard a traditional junk.
