Highlights
  • Brooklyn Bridge - Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge in NYC is like traversing a symbol of innovation and urban beauty.
Take in the majestic architecture of the Brooklyn Bridge as you walk across its expanse. Designed by John A. Roebling and completed in 1883, the bridge is a masterpiece of engineering and a testament to human ingenuity.
Pause along the way to soak in the breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline, the East River, and the Statue of Liberty in the distance. It’s a picture-perfect vantage point for capturing memories of your journey.
As you continue across the bridge, stroll along the pedestrian promenade, which is separated from the traffic lanes by a barrier. This elevated pathway offers unobstructed views of both Manhattan and Brooklyn, making it ideal for sightseeing and photography.

  • Dumbo - Walk through and take pictures at DUMBO.
Continue your walk into the adjacent neighborhood of DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass), known for its industrial-chic vibe, art galleries, and trendy eateries. Explore the cobblestone streets and converted warehouses that now house studios, boutiques, and cafes.

  • Brooklyn - We will stop at TimeOut Market Brooklyn for lunch.
After approximately 30-40 minutes of walking, you’ll reach the Brooklyn side of the bridge. Take some time to explore Brooklyn Bridge Park, which offers stunning views of the bridge, as well as recreational amenities and green space.

  • The National 9/11 Memorial & Museum - *We do not go inside the museum. Take a moment to pay your respects at the 9/11 Memorial & Museum. It’s a poignant reminder of the events that shaped the world and a tribute to the lives lost.

  • One World Trade Center - Head towards the World Trade Center complex, where you’ll find the striking Oculus transportation hub. This architectural marvel is a symbol of resilience and rebirth after the tragic events of 9/11.

  • Brooklyn Heights - Begin your journey at the Brooklyn Heights Promenade, a scenic waterfront esplanade with panoramic views of the East River, the Brooklyn Bridge, and the iconic Manhattan skyline. Take a moment to soak in the breathtaking scenery before heading into the neighborhood.

Montague Street: Walk inland towards Montague Street, the bustling commercial heart of Brooklyn Heights. This charming street is lined with shops, cafes, and restaurants, offering a diverse array of dining and shopping options.

Brooklyn Heights Historic District: Explore the historic brownstone-lined streets of the Brooklyn Heights Historic District, one of the city’s first designated historic districts. Admire the architectural beauty of the well-preserved 19th-century homes, many of which feature elegant stoops, ornate facades, and lush gardens.

  • City Hall Area - Talk about NYC and end the tour.

Awesome tour for even seasoned visitors - My husband and I love to take east coast trips during the summer and though we’ve been to NYC many times, we like to take tours to get a few new insights. I had never been on the ferry before and this was a really neat way to feel comfortable doing a new thing. Katie was a joy to walk with and was able to give us new tips for the rest of our trip too.

Great for families! - This was such a great experience.y family and I joined Lori to walk across Brooklyn Bridge and I’m really glad we had a tour guide. She was great at giving us time to take photos but also sharing stories and pointing out features and views we will not have seen otherwise.

Exploring NYC on foot - Onel escorted a small group of us across Brooklyn Bridge and Down Under Manhattan Bridge Overpass (DUMBO). He is a long time resident of Brooklyn and very knowledgeable about the bridge and the area generally. We had a lovely morning finishing up with advice on where to get the best pizza and ice cream! We enjoyed several walking tours with this company including a tour of Harlem with a lady called Altovisa and a 6 hour tour with Garrett which took us from Wall Street to The Highline. We thoroughly enjoyed each one! Thankyou.

150% worth the time and money! - Fantastic! (Really.) I know, you can walk the Bridge for free and see the sights, but why would you? You can go with an expert guide (John) and delight in the history of Manhattan and Brooklyn coming alive with a master storyteller + take in some spectacular views along the way. It was a pleasure to pay 50 bucks for this memorable 2.5 hour guided walk and I will enthusiastically recommend it to friends! So. Darned. Fun. ~Roma & Paul

DUMBO was full of character, and the ferry ride was a relaxing end. I really enjoyed this tour with Tours By Foot and will surely plan on doing some more tours with them. Definitely worth it!

Unprofessional and offensive tour guide - We took the Brooklyn Bridge and DUMBO tour. The host made several attempts to flirt with my partner, which made her feel quite uncomfortable. I was annoyed about how shameless and offensive the tour guide was. The tour itself was not outstanding, but OK.
