Insightful tour of Greenwich Village - Our tour guide Steve did a great job at telling us about the history of NYC. We learned so much within a short span of time. The food was also very enjoyable, especially Bleeker St. Pizza.

Definitely a foodie’s delight - If you enjoy your food, this tour is a definite! Not only do you get to try some of the food which ranges from breakfast burgers to pasta, pizza, brigaderios and pub food but you also get to know the history of Greenwich which Brian is well versed in. The food itself was fabulous, be warned you won’t need to have breakfast before or lunch afterwards.

Tasty and light - There were 11 of us and Ric took us to 7 places in the Village. From American breakfast sandwiches to Lebanese thyme bread to Brazilian sweets, everything was there. Some of the owners of the places even took us there for a chat. Very friendly atmosphere, relaxed atmosphere and delicious food. Ric was funny, smart and enriched the tour with information about NY and local life. Highly recommended!

Amazing village food tour - This was such a fun, informative and delicious tour. Steve made this tour extra special with his insights and personal touches as well as his New York authenticity. He gave us extra time and did not rush things a he maneuvered us around bottlenecks during the tour due to crowded areas in the village as everyone was out and about on a beautiful spring day. It was a great mix of old world and more recent history of Greenwich village. I highly recommend this for anyone who enjoys getting a flavor, literally and culturally, of this great New York neighborhood.

Tasty Foods but Divisive Tour Organization on a Holiday - I’ll start by acknowledging I probably had a very atypical experience with this tour consider I went on the 4th of July. Despite the tour company insisting that they had called each of the restaurant destinations that morning to ensure they were open, two of the planned food stops ended up being closed unexpectedly. I’m not sure how much this impacted things but it very much felt like eating a meal in reverse order with the tour front loaded with sweets and pastries and then ending with the more filling savory entrees. While I didn’t personally mind this a lot of the other guests were definitely getting hangry midway through the tour. I had booked the tour with a discounted rate through one of my friends, but I feel that if I had paid the full listing price I would’ve been more disappointed in the amount of food I received. That being said, all the food that we DID have was pretty good quality with the highlights being the Brazilian cafe and the Cannolis. The tour guide was also a bit of a divisive subject amongst the guests I was with. We toured with Ric and were a relatively small group. While I personally enjoyed all of the stories he would tell us about his time working as a Broadway actor in the area and felt like I was getting enough info about the Greenwich area, some of the other guests I had talked to were annoyed that they hadn’t gotten as much of a history lesson as they would’ve liked. This may have also been impacted by the fact that several of our scheduled stops were closed, but I will add that Ric was very nice and was able to answer any questions the group asked. I appreciated that he also helped me find my way back to Grand Central after the tour. If I were to suggest any edits to this tour I’d say to rearrange the food stops so that people can get some larger food in them at the start to hold them over, and also to maybe include a list of the historical spots that will be covered in the tour description so people aren’t caught off guard or disappointed. Or perhaps offer the tour at later hours in the day during the summer to avoid some of the heat and humidity.
