Highlights
  • Molly’s Cupcakes - Meeting point and ending point. We finish up at this award-winning cupcake place. It’s too-cool-for-school with desks, retro lunch boxes and even swings. Oh and cupcakes to die for.
  • Mamoun’s Falafel - The best falafel you’ll ever have in Manhattan or perhaps anywhere. It’s no surprise they’ve been around since 1971 - the longest Middle Eastern spot in all of New York.
  • Artichoke Basille’s Pizza - This West Village institution is renowned for their namesake pizza and while they have other delicious pizzas, we go with their double-crusted, creamy work of art: the artichoke slice. And no you don’t have to like artichokes to love this slice!
  • Pommes Frites - Pommes Frites has the best fries in the city or probably anywhere. Authentic Belgian fries that are double cooked and topped with extraordinary sauces - choose from over 30! Also - beer on tap and wine selection are available for purchase and YES we will be there long enough to finish it.
  • Bleecker Street Pizza - We will try the world famous and food network favorite nonna Maria pizza. Also, beer and wine available for purchase
  • Washington Square Park - Washington Square Park is legendary. You’ve seen it in a ton of films, it’s the unofficial campus of NYU students and you’ll see some of the coolest people in the city here. Feed pigeons. Hear musicians and watch street performers. You never know what to expect. Oh except for the mighty arch which is, of course, renowned.
  • Little Owl - No, there isn’t really a Central Perk and yes, they filmed Friends in Los Angeles …but for you ‘Friends’ fans, you can check out the outside of their apartment. They shot the facade footage here. Clap clap clap clap.
  • The Stonewall Inn - The Stonewall Inn is such a huge historical site - literally and figuratively. We pass by the prideful institution as well as its new statue which was installed to commemorate it’s 50th anniversary.
  • Faicco’s Italian Specialties - Faicco’s has so many items that will make your mouth water. We sample their arancini (rice ball) and sopressata (salami) and I promise you, these bite sized delights pack a culinary punch that last long after the tour.

Experienced the best of the Village on our tour. - Absolutely loved our walking and eating tour with Emmeline. While not a native New Yorker herself, Emmeline knew all the great tidbits of information that make these kinds of tours worth it. She told us Dante, the actual Nice Guy, is a native New Yorker and he obviously passes on his knowledge freely to those who work for him. From the very first falafel shop in New York (which probably also means the very first in the US) to warm, cheesy arancini, we had a diversity of bites that was 100% New York and 110% the Village. Through our walking and chatting, Emmeline remembered our names and where we were from. Our group conversed easily with each other and with our guide, making it much more like walking the city with a knowledgeable friend than a tour. I’d honestly forgotten that food was included in the price because it was the same price as other tours I’d looked at where you buy your own snacks! A great time AND a great deal. Highly recommend Nice Guy Tours for your Greenwich Village tours and I am certain any other tours they offer will be just as good. Have to add: My group included two 17 year olds, rarely impressed by anything. They both said they had a great time, learned a lot, and their fave stop was Bleecker Street Pizza!
