Additional Information

This moving and evocative tour of Ground Zero begins at the site of what served as a rescue center for victims and place for mementos after the attacks: St. Paul’s Chapel. This historic church was miraculously unharmed when the Twin Towers fell despite being only a block away.

You’ll then walk to the 9/11 Memorial where we’ll reflect on the lives lost in the World Trade Center attacks. See “Reflecting Absence,” the largest artificial waterfalls on the continent. Your guide will share the meaning behind the memorial, stories from the day, and how New Yorkers came together in the aftermath.

From there, begin a self-guided tour in the lobby of the Freedom Tower by watching “Voices,” a film dedicated to the men and women of the Twin Towers and Freedom Tower.

A Moving & Informative Experience / A Must-Do! - Given the events of 9/11, we obviously anticipated there to be some sadness during this tour and indeed there were some moments. However...our guide, Dana, so well blended the difficult details of the planes hitting the towers, the how-and-why they collapsed - all while interjecting facts, figures and stories of the many heros that day. Great details were also given regarding One World Tower, the surviving and new buildings, etc. - all in such way to have our rapt attention from the beginning to the end. The start of the tour at St. Paul's Chapel was a proper starting point and the tour continued well paced from there as we made our way to ground zero. We simply cannot sing enough praises about Dana. Having lost her brother in the event her firsthand account of that terrible day, and all that has followed in the years since, provided a personal perspective as few could. She did not, however, present in a way which wallowed or depressed (although it certainly would be an underlying emotion given that day). Rather, she interspersed accounts of some miracles that day, the heroic efforts of the responders from near and far, allowed time for quiet reflection at Fire House #10 and the reflecting pools, and talked about how the city and citizens wrestled with what the area should become afterwards. All in all, Dana provided a tour which was sensitive, informative, respectful and well-paced. We suspect this tour group has other equally professional guides, so we believe that you cannot go wrong no matter who your guide will be. For us, however, Dana was truly special and we came away feeling blessed to have her walk us through a difficult history and in her own life. Quite simply, she was, incredible. My wife and I have taken our share of tours around the globe and we agreed this was truly one of the most well done we've ever experienced. This tour is a MUST when visiting NYC.

Hard to hear - If hard of hearing - Save time and just do admission at museum. Tour was unable to provide equipment or Bluetooth capability for hearing aid. Speaker not loud enough. Tour guide did the best he could to accomodate but couldn't hear a thing due to the amount of noise in the area. Please display online that tour not suitable for people with hearing impairments.
