Insightful & Fun for beginners to experts - First of all, Central Park at night is not scary. It's a largely peaceful, and it's a photographer's wonderland. Zim guides you to spots in the park where you can learn and practice new ideas. She brings a depth of knowledge, a wealth of patience, and a mentor's counseling skills to the task. She patiently walked through the why's and how's of night photography and allowed me to practice, fail, and practice again. I left with my head swimming in new techniques and insights, hoping to be able to remember and re-use what I learned. It was an unforgettable couple hours. Well worth the time.

Fabulous experience - Zim was a fabulous instructor! Her expertise made the class super informative and rewarding. I walked away with some great shots, a better understanding of my camera and a whole new respect for the technical side of night shooting. My class ended up being just Zim and I -- talking about fabulous one-on-one instruction. As an added bonus, Zim was funny and easy to talk to. I'm planning to take the New York Icon Photography Tour next.

Central Park at Night!! - Zim was very patient with the beginners and had some more advanced lessons for the more experienced photographers. Got some great shots, learned some new functions on my camera, and had a lot of fun.

Night Photography with a Pro - I am an experienced photographer and there was a novice in the group. The instructor, Kim, was able to tend to both of our needs. I learned a lot and had a delightful evening. My recommendation would stand for all levels of photography.

Great Experience, Highly Recommend - I've just started out in photography (5 months) but I finally wanted to give night photography a shot. Getting started seemed a little overwhelming so I went on this tour hoping to learn a bit of the technicals and to get some good photos and I got exactly just that. Zim's expertise is second-to-none and her sense of humor is really good at keeping the mood light and fun. She's more than willing to answer any questions you may have and has some great stories up her sleeve. I would highly recommend this tour to any amateur photographer.

Another great photo safari - This was my 5th photo safari I've taken and this time I did the Central Park at Night safari. We had a very small group this time--just myself and one other attendee and we had both taken safaris with instructor Zim before. Our first shot was to be a skyline view taken from a location in Central Park, but it was the night of a power outage affecting a large swath of Manhattan, so the buildings had no lights so we spent less time here. On to the next shot we walked deeper into the park and spent a good chunk of time on The Mall area taking various shots down the walkway and surrounding area. Bethesda Fountain and Arcade were the next stops. I really enjoyed this tour and and learned a lot about long exposures. Zim spent time going back and forth between the 2 of us commenting on photos and how to improve them by either changing the composition or by adjusting camera settings. I feel much more confident now about trying longer exposures and this course has given me other ideas for shots I want to try. I always come away from a photo safari with new knowledge and ways to apply it and these workshops are one of my favorite things I do when visiting New York. I would recommend a photo safari to anyone with an interest in improving their photography skills.

Great unique photo workshop! - I thoroughly enjoyed this workshop. I never would have gone to Central Park on my own to photograph so booked this photo tour. We had a small group and Zim was a fantastic instructor and guide. She was extremely knowledgeable about my camera and I learned a few new tricks. She took us to great photogenic spots and taught us how to figure out the right exposure and settings. Plus she's got a fun sense of humor :)

WOW, never saw Central Park this way - I have been a long time resident of NYC and have visited Central Park many times...however never with the idea to photograph it at night. This was a wonderful chance to see Central Park with a different view. NYC Photo Safari was the right group to be with to see the Park in all it's "specialness" at night. The class was small with different levels of skills and all of us had a great time getting to know each other and sharing our shots. Zim, our photography professional/tour guide was wonderful, there wasn't a question that she couldn't handle nor a technical challenge that she couldn't answer. She knew all the best spots for shooting great photos and her stories of her own shooting trips added to the evening. I was so happy with the results of this tour and decided to take Zim's tour of "The Brooklyn Bridge @ Night" two days later, and again a wonderful evening and great shots as well. Would highly recommend NYC Photo Safari

Capturing the city the never sleeps - Last night I joined New York City Photo Safari for an evening in Central Park. It was my third outing with the group and it didn't disappoint. It was a great way to see another side of Central Park, and to capture some sights while learning how to use some of the manual settings to capture the perfect shot in the dark. Four participants were in this safari and Zim did an incredible job of catering to each of our levels and interests. I highly recommend seeing NYC through a camera lens.
