Breeze to book for the top of the rock breeze - We happened to have a clear day to see endlessly. Booking times was very easy, the price was right, the staff was ample and guided us in a very kind way. We had coffee- and they allowed us to step aside in line to drink it- then allowed back to line front. You should sell monocular and binoculars at the top- I would have bought one

Great views - I've been to NYC bunches of times, but this was the first time that it worked out that we could go to the TotR. The day we went, it was pretty hazy, but the views were still pretty amazing. I would advise buying tickets in advance and coming a little early. Yes, it's touristy, but still worth the trip. I don't need to do it every time, but I'd do it again at some point.

Best observation deck in New York - Went to quite a few observation decks in New York but the big two are still the Empire State's and the Rockefeller's. The Empire State has the greater fame but the Rockefeller has 'the' classic view of New York. You can get to the very top of the building (couple of dozen steps) that has an openness not found on other decks. This is because there is no floors or spires above you, there are no glass screens, and the barrier is only waist high (the top is setback from the floor below). The saying is the Rockefeller gives you something the Empire State can't.. a view of the Empire State. I also found the area around the Rockefeller to be nicer and more interesting.

Amazing Views of Midtown & Central Park - We went to Top of The Rock at 8pm on a Friday in July. This way we got to see the views before and after sunset which was perfect. The queue system was quick and efficient but they were very strict on time slots. It was raining the night we went so they had to shut the top deck due to lightening which made the two remaining decks very busy but we were able to get in to see the views quickly enough, although a lot of people do just sit on the windowsills inside not even to look at the view which I found odd. This observation deck is amazing for the views of midtown and central park we got such amazing pictures.

Good but expensive - Good, but costly. Views are spectacular and recommend going at the golden hour even though it will be busy at that time of day.

Great Views but at a cost - We arrived in New York lunchtime and booked this for the night time views, we arrived and from queuing to get to the top was very quick. Once we got to the top you can walk out to various viewing locations to get a good view, this you do get. The weather was good and clear you can see for miles. If you’re going to do the beam you need to book that with the view as you cannot book this up there. We didn’t book it so couldn’t do it, but that said glad we didn’t as the cost of that is very expensive and the viewing trip in it’s self is expensive for basically a ride in a lift walk out a few photos then back down again. The beam I think should have been take a photo when up there then purchase it from below on your way out but at a reasonable price. Would I do it again, no I wouldn’t.

Great views, grumpy staff - The views are amazing and as we were the first entrants it was not too busy. Unfortunately it is let down by staff who all seemed generally grumpy, unhelpful and rude. Asked a staff member to take our group picture - ‘Nope too busy.’ Asked to pay for drinks in the weather room with cash - ‘Nope we don’t want to give you change’. I know it’s a tourist hotspot but they literally see visitors as dollar signs and want to get you in and out as quickly as possible taking as much of your money along the way. Unfortunately they have a captive audience with little competition. If I could recommend somewhere else with similar or better views I would.

Skip it, not worth the money - Top of the Rock is run down and poorly run. The glass to look out was filthy and the whole area was dirty. The so called restaurant was sad and only had a few tables with no view. There was only one elevator for going up and coming down, so we had to wait in line in a small stuffy painted plywood hallway sweating while we waited on the elevator to leave. Don’t bother just go to Summit One instead which was amazing, clean, well run, and had spectacular views.
