Trip of a lifetime! - We went on a Dolphin/Whale watching excursion with Nick from East Meets West yesterday morning. It was honestly the trip of a lifetime! Nick was our captain and is extremely knowledgeable about marine life. We learned all kinds of facts about dolphins & whales! Nick went out of his way to see a huge pod of dolphins we spotted! Being on a smaller boat we were able to go faster and farther than the larger sight seeing boats. The boat was clean and seats were extremely comfortable. Nick also made sure my daughter-in-law was doing okay as she was extremely nervous. We unfortunately did not see any whales, but saw more dolphins than I’ve ever seen before! And Nick even stopped and let us see a group of sea lions hanging out! I would hands down recommend East Meets West to anyone seeking adventure & to get up close & personal views of the marine animals! Thank you, Nick for an amazing experience! We will be back!

Perfect Outing - Captain Nick was the absolute best!!! He was friendly and knowledgeable. He gave very specific directions (navigating the area can be tricky) which helped immensely. The boat was perfect! Smaller boat for a 5-6 person private tour that had speed to catch up to the dolphins and cover a large area to see dolphins, whales, seals and a variety of birds. It was the perfect outing. High recommend!

If you do nothing else in Newport Beach, do this! - Captain Nick was a fantastic host and guide, pulling out all the stops to help us experience the best of Californian sea mammal life. We had dolphins leaping alongside the boat (magical!), saw seal lions basking in the sun and were really fortunate to see two species of whale (Minke whales and a Humpback)! It really is awe-inspiring to be so close to these creatures and Captain Nick shared some great information about their behaviours and habitats. The super fun, fast boat ride topped it all off. A brilliant two hours!

Two of the best hours of my life - Captain Nick pulled out all the stops for us and we had a breathtaking experience. The boat trip itself would have been reward enough (super fast and fun!) but it was truly awe-inspiring to see dolphins and whales feeding and playing in their natural habitats. We saw common dolphins, minke whales, sea lions and a humpback whale. Unbelievable memories. Thank you!!

Great tour!!! - The tour was very well organized. We were given very detailed and comprehensive instructions about the tour and preparation and I found it very helpful. Captain is very experienced, knowledgeable about wild life, and put my 5 year old son at ease, He has very pleasant demeanor. We were able to watch dolphins within 10 minutes of tour, watched two Blue whales and bunch of sea lions. Captain Nick went above and beyond in making this tour memorable and took extra 10 minutes to show us a pod of feeding dolphins on the way back, despite running late. We did not feel hurried. The boat was nice and clean. We had great time and will recommend this tour to everyone without any reservations. It’s worth every single penny.

Unforgettable Whale Watching - Third trip with East Meets West Whale Watching. Each trip better than the last. Today we saw several fin whales, a blue whale, a pod of dolphins and sea lions. Captain Nick is knowledgeable, professional, and wonderful at what he does. The small boat is the way to go, getting us relatively close to the mammals without being too close to disturb them. It’s also great fun to crash through the swells out to the open sea. The boat has special seats with shock absorbers so you don’t feel like you’re being tossed about with each wave. I still can’t believe we saw a blue whale, so huge it boggles the mind. I can’t wait to go again!

AWESOME! - Capt. Nick is so knowledgeable - he knows the signs of a whale being in the area, and will do everything possible to get you a whale sighting! His boat is fantastic - sleek, fast, with a stabilizer, which ensures a smooth ride. It was a personal experience with our group of five. We saw dolphins swimming and jumping right beside us. An Orca whale showed himself, and on the way back we saw sea lions drying out on a buoy with a few flipping about. The weather was perfect and with it being the 9:00 am departure the water was smooth. Follow the instructions Capt. Nick gives and you’ll be prepared. We’ve done a whale and dolphin watching experience before. Capt. Nick’s is unique and personal. Book it!

Absolute best whale watching trip! - Capt. Nick was outstanding! This was a once in a lifetime trip. An hour in he found a pod of 500-1000 dolphins; and also landed in an area where we say several hump back whales. His boat has the distance and speed to get where needed; this trip will be a memory for life for My wife and I. He provided insights into the whales and dolphins and very interesting facts. Whales circles the boat and we could almost Touch them. Highly recommended and go with an open mind as there is no gaurantee - however, based on our past experiences Capt. Nick provides the best chance - he was determined and we ended up going a little longer and further once his 50k+ sonar equipment chirped on a large pod of dolphins and whales…. Wow!

Excellent trip - Excellent trip. Didn’t get to see whales but did see three pods of dolphins. I liked the boat - it was surprisingly comfortable over the waves. Highly recommended.

Don’t pass this up - In case your wondering there actually is a real guy -Capt Nick and he’s terrific. As was his twin engine catamaran center console with shock absorbing seats. Capt Nick went the extra mile (literally) to make our trip fantastic. Obviously, there’s no guarantee you’ll see a whale especially out of the peak season. But we were blessed and saw a fin whale breaching. Amazing. Originally, being from Florida I didn’t think seeing the common dolphin would be a big deal. But it was. They are much smaller and really fun to encounter. Way cool were the nursery pods with baby dolphin. Lots of little guys swimming and jumping next to mom. Unbelievably fun to see. Go for it, we highly recommend Capt Nick!!
