This petite palace constructed in 1892 played a crucial role in forwarding the women’s suffrage movement, as Alva Vanderbilt organized fundraising events in her pagoda (Chinese Tea House on the Cliff Walk) through which she generated substantial funds for the ratification of the 19th amendment.

Both the Marble House and Chinese Tea House were used as the Asian wedding backdrop in the popular Katherine Heigl movie ‘27 Dresses’

Seasonal tours are offered at the Rosecliff mansion.

  • The trolley tour halts at The Breakers Newport, the third Vanderbilt Mansion in Newport, to drop off tourists who opted for this interior tour.

A fun half day tour - We booked this tour to see as much of Newport RI as we could since we only had a few hours in port. And our driver/guide Carles did not disappoint. He was friendly, funny and full of historic information about the town and the mansions as we passed by them. The trolley was comfortable and we were fortunate to have incredible weather for early October, so the open windows was refreshing. Whether you're in town for a few days or just a few hours, this tour is a great way to see and learn about Newport.

The trolley was comfortable and we had perfect weather to enjoy the open windows. We would definitely recommend this tour whether you're visiting Newport RI for a few days or just in port for a cruise.

Great experience! - The open air trolley was so refreshing! I went with my best friend and our two boys (ages 9 & 11.) We saw all the most important landmarks of Newport, and the open nature of the trolley made the experience SO much better. You could smell the salt air, feel the breeze, and truly take everything in. Our tour guide was funny and FABULOUS. Highly recommend!

Rob was great pick up was not - Rob was great, however late getting to pick up location. Pickup location is just a bus stop with no one there at the departure time. They say to be 20 minutes early however no one is there till the bus shows up. No signs no information letting you know it’s the right spot. Manu of the people we were with were not sure if this was right spot. Tour was very good lots of information some of the mansions you don’t get to see very well.

Lack of Communication - We missed this event due to our cruise ship having issues tendering in port. While I totally understand this is not the excursion’s problem, a response to my messages would be nice. We would have even booked and paid for a different tour if they had bothered to respond. $50 down the drain.
