  • Nizwa - Nizwa is an ancient city in the Ad Dakhiliyah region of northern Oman. It sits on a plain characterized by seasonal rivers and palm plantations. It’s known for Nizwa Fort, a castle with a huge cylindrical tower built in the 17th century to defend the city’s position on a major trade route. The adjoining marketplace, Nizwa Souk, is lined with handicrafts stalls and silversmiths working in small shops
  • Nizwa Fort Oman - It was built in the 1650s by the second Ya’rubi; Imam Sultan Bin Saif Al Ya’rubi, although its underlying structure goes back to the 12th century It is Oman’s most visited national monument. The fort was the administrative seat of authority for the presiding Imams and Walis in times of peace and conflict. The main bulk of the fort took about 12 years to complete and was built above an underground stream. The fort is a powerful reminder of the town’s significance through turbulent periods in Oman’s long history. It was a formidable stronghold against raiding forces that desired Nizwa’s abundant natural wealth and its strategic location at the crossroads of vital routes.
  • Nizwa Souk - This souq lies in the vicinity of the walls of the famous Nizwa Fort. Its building embraces both traditional and modern architectural lines
  • Misfat al Abriyyin - Notable for both its traditional architecture and agriculture, Misfat Al Abriyeen is an Omani oasis village, that has been a self-sustaining cohesive community based on the ancient falaj irrigation systems for at least 2000 years. It is located at c. 900m asl, deep within the Oman Mountains, a formidable mountain chain that stretches in an arc across the Oman Peninsula. Misfat Al Abriyeen’s vision points to restore Misfat as a fully functioning, self-sufficient and networked rural unit that also plays its important role in the creation of a sustainable future for the country following ‘Oman Vision 2040’ through tourism and heritage-led initiatives

Discover the Beauty of Oman

First, take a morning drive through the Hajar Mountains to the township of Nizwa to see Nizwa Fort. Visit the traditional souq, the village of Misfah perched on the side of a mountain, and the region of Al Hamra.

Then travel to Jabal Shams (“Sun Mountain”) where you can see the country’s highest mountain loom over Wadi Ghul, Oman’s version of the Grand Canyon.

You will Explore the nature of Al Hajar mountains. Then you will enjoy your visit to the traditional Nizwa Souq and then Explore Jebel Shams, the village of Misfah, and the Al Hamra region.
