Wonderful journey and great guide (Brendan) - I had a great time during this tour. The guide (Brendan) was fantastico in entertaining us with every sort of story about Scotland (history, anecdotes, ecc.)

Absolutely worth recommending - I had a wonderful day on this tour. First of all, I love that Gray Line do pick-ups for everyone from their accommodation. Amd then both Alnwick Castle and Lindisfarne were amazing, all while listening to the guide and driver in one person (Bill) who was telling anecdotes, bits of Scottish and English history with a dose of humour and then playing some thematic music. The coach was also very comfortable and just as I was picked up from the hostel, I was dropped off very close to it, so were other people, and no other tour company does this. I absolutely recommend Gray Lien Scotland.

Great day out! - Bill, our driver, could not have been more helpful ( or cheerful). Picked us up promptly and gave an interesting commentary throughout the journey.

Holy Island and Alnwick Castle - Very enjoyable and interesting. Seeing the path pilgrims take while the water level is low was fascinating. Alnwick Castle and finding out scenes from Downton Abbey were filmed there was exciting.

Fun!! - Really fun day trip but lots of time on the bus. Good for independent travelers because none of the trip was guided. Tour guide (Brendan) was nice and funny. Pick-up places for the bus were sometimes hard to find and guide was a bit disorganized at times. Overall the trip was great and we recommend but good to keep in mind that it was not particularly detail-oriented.

The reason I gave 4stars is that the time allowed at Alnwick isn't really enough to see all that's there. To do castle and gardens properly you need at least another 30 minutes.

Alnwick Castle was very enjoyable... -
Alnwick Castle was very enjoyable and made our day. Lindisfarne was completely tented due to renovations which I believe should have been disclosed to us but the Abbey ruins located nearby were beautiful. The bus was dirty and the bathroom was a disaster. Lastly, the tour was to stop at The Hirsel, described as an idyllic country manor for tea and scones, which did not occur. Thankfully, Alnwick helped to overcome the issues identified which resulted in our rating of only 3 Stars. This Greyline Tour was overall disappointing and we can not recommend same.

The good...The scenery of the... -
The good...The scenery of the pastoral Scottish and English countryside was beautiful. The small towns we passed were quaint. Alnwick Castle was delightful and a lot of fun.
The bad...The tour did not start at 9 am. We had to wait around for an extra 40 minutes because they were picking up other passengers. We left at 9:40 and arrived back at 5:30. We had to skip Lindisfarne because it was high tide that day and we would not be able to make it in an out on time. We were compensated with an extra time at Alnwick. But even with the extra time, it was not enough time to tour Alnwick and the gardens. It would have been better if the tour was longer. The tour guide was bland. I wished he had more stories to entertain us on the long drive.
Overall, it's okay. It could be improved by being punctual and allotting more time at the castles. A major bonus point for me would be a tour guide that could entertain us with the colorful stories of the Scots. I've been on quite a few tours and even the average tour was made more enjoyable with a knowledgeable and funny tour guide.

Cancelled - Though it was understood that the tour could be cancelled if not enough participants signed up, we were so very disappointed that we could not get to Lindisfarne- one of our top chosen destinations for our trip ☹️
