Highlights
  • Lago di Carezza - We will cross the Ega Valley that begins at Bolzano and runs eastward between the Rosengarten and the Latemar mountains. This road was built in 1895 when the territory was part of the Austro Hungarian Empire. Part of the route is located in a canyon carved by the river Ega. We will stop at Carezza Lake, the most beautiful lake of the Dolomites: 30 minutes of staying with a walk around the lake if you want.

  • Passo di Costalunga - Then we will arrive to Costalunga Pass. Near the Pass we will see the historical “Grand Hotel Carezza”, built in 1893, the first luxury hotel in the Dolomites which hosted very important guests like the Empress Sissi, Winston Churchill, Agatha Christie.

  • Fassa Valley - From the Costalunga Pass we will reach the Fassa Valley in Trentino: we will pass through the towns of Vigo di Fassa and Canazei to arrive under the imposing peaks of the Sella Group.

  • Sass Pordoi - From here begins a long series of 27 hairpins bends (switchbacks) that will lead us to the famous Pordoi Pass at an altitude of 2.239 meters above sea level. One hour of staying if you decide to arrive with the cable car to Sass Pordoi (altitude of 2950 meters: the cable car is open from late May until mid-October and from Christmas to Easter).

  • Passo Sella - From the Pordoi Pass we return back a few kilometers to reach the Sella Pass: here the landscape is really impressive with the Sella vertical walls that stand right in front of us …. From the Sella Pass we can admire the Marmolada glacier (3,343 m) and the majestic Sassolungo (3,181 m), the most famous mountain in Gardena Valley: 10 minutes stop for photos.

  • Ortisei - Coming down from the Sella Pass we will enter in the Gardena Valley, the best known tourist valley of the Dolomites and we will stay in its largest town, the beautiful Ortisei: one hour of staying for lunch break and to visit the town.

Wonderful - One of the most beautiful views I've ever seen in my life. The places are extremely beautiful, the nature is impeccable, it was a delightful day that went by super quickly. Alex was very attentive and charismatic from the first contact, with great explanations about the region, the history of the formations, you can see that he has knowledge of the region. Speaks English well, so communication was very good. I took the tour alone and it was super peaceful and comfortable. I recommend it 1000%

Reliable Guide - Alessandro was very easy to deal with. He called me on whats app several times to discuss our trip. His driver was waiting for us at the Venice airport to pick us up and take us to our hotel. He also dropped us at the Bolzano airport when we left. Even if you have your own car I do not think you would want to drive yourself. He have us a comprehensive tour of the eastern and western Dolomites. We were with him for 2 full days on 2 different tours We had a very good time and felt as if we saw a lot. The only 2 negatives were as follows. He does not take credit cards and only takes euros in cash. However his fees were the most reasonable for the time of any agencies I contacted. Unlike other guides we had he does not give continued commentary but rather did better when we asked frequent questions. I would recommend him.

Wonderful experience in the Dolomities - The experience in the Dolomites was wonderful! The Dolomites are so beautiful! Alex is a very good tour guide! Thanks so much for his kindness, patience, expertise and consideration, we missed nothing and were able to enjoy more sunshine and the very beautiful Dolomites. From Alex's passion and expertise for the mountains we learned more about the Dolomites and Northern Italy. Alex was so friendly and even before we set off to Italy he gave us the best advice for our own day trip to the Dolomites. Exceeded expectations and it was a worthwhile trip! We highly recommend this tour.

Best of the dolomites with Alessandro - We spent 6 fantastic hours with Alesandro driving around and visiting the dolomites. This was our fist excursion to the south Tyrol area and we loved it! It was overcast and snowing on our tour but that did not bother us (we are used to the snow and cold). We stopped at some key spots to view the lakes and mountains as well as some of the mountain towns. Alessandro's knowledge of the area is amazing and we could not have asked for a better guide! We highly recommend this tour.

Beautiful area, Alessandro was knowledgeable anda great guide.d dge - The changeable weather in May brought snow to the high area we were meant to see. Guide Alessandro gave us the option to cancel or do a low country tour which we did. A thoroughly enjoyable day.

Switchback roads through two passes and beautiful scenery. - Alessandro is a lovely person who took four of us on kms of switchback roads, through the passes talking about this beloved area he calls home. We met him at a local hotel by the train station and his timing was impeccable. The weather was not in our favour and we didn't see much of the dolomites but we managed to see glimpses of them. This is an expensive tour and to that end it would be of benefit if you did this tour on a clear day (you can cancel up to a certain point), but we had a timeline and wanted to see what we could see. Alessandro shared lots of information along the way and added lots to the trip.
