Highlights
  • Pearl Harbor National Memorial - We begin at historic Pearl Harbor where you will experience firsthand the earth-shattering events that catapulted the U.S. into World War II. Join us at the USS Arizona Memorial, a deeply moving and emotional experience where you will learn about the 1,177 seamen who perished when their battleship was sunk during the December 7, 1941 Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. You’ll witness the attack in a 23-minute documentary and then cross the harbor to the Memorial in a Navy vessel. At the Memorial, pay your respects to the heroes whose names are etched in marble in the Shrine Room. Look into the water and note the oil droplets – “The Black Tears of the Arizona” – that continue to escape the sunken battleship and rise to the harbor surface. Back at Pearl Harbor Visitor Center, there will be time to visit the WWII museum exhibits and the bookshop.
  • North Shore - Our breathtaking voyage continues as we take in the valleys and cliffs of the emerald green Koolau Mountains and the rocky shoreline of South Oahu. You’ll be amazed by the incredible panoramic views from Nuuanu Pali Lookout, Makapuu Point, and Hanauma Bay.
  • Polynesian Cultural Center - Arriving at Polynesian Cultural Center, you’ll enter a world that celebrates the music, dance, and way of life on six Pacific Island nations: Hawaii, Tahiti, Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, and New Zealand. Explore a diverse spectrum of Polynesian traditions as you visit authentic villages for each nation. Meet Pacific islanders from across globe, listen to their stories and songs, and watch their joyful dances. Take a canoe ride from village to village and learn Tahitian spear throwing and Samoan cooking. Sit back and enjoy the colorful Polynesian Canoe Pageant and relax over a delicious barbecue lunch.
  • Dole Plantation - We stop at the famous dole pavillion for a “no host” dole whip treat.

You can also shop in the pineapple gift store, check out the famous rainbow tress or grab a “no host” snack at several local food trucks.

Reommend this tour - We had visited Pearl Harbor and the Memorial the day before on a longer tour, and we enjoyed the second visit with this tour. We heard different volunteers and park guides speak, and were very moved by their commentary and stories. You cannot visit Oahu and not go to the USS Arizona Memorial. Visiting the Dole Plantation we thought was a complete waste of time. We were only given 30 minutes there - and the train around the plantation takes 30 minutes. There was a long line - and not enough time to do it. Very frustrating. All we could do was to visit the gift shop in that amount of time. We wanted to see the plantation - NOT the gift shop. The Polynesian Cultural Center was very enjoyable - but again - NOT ENOUGH TIME HERE. We only got to see half of it. We recommend a whole day tour just here! The students who work the Center are all charming and give a good experience of Polynesian Culture. Our tour guide Johnny Aloha was entertaining. He added in 3 additional stops - at the Macademia Nut Farm, the Nu'uanu Pali Lookout and the Palace in Waikiki on our return journey. These additional stops made up for our disappointment at the Dole Plantation. He also drove the coastal road which was beautiful to see.

Memorable Experience - We wanted our children to experience Pearl Harbor. It is a somber reminder of sacrifices made for our freedom. The tour itself was great! Dole and Polynesian Center were also good.

Fun day - This is a wonderful trip and I know everyone’s preferences are different, but personally I would have liked a longer time at the Dole Plantation (20 minutes wasn't long enough) and less time at the Polynesian Center. But over all a great day.

Choose a different tour - We booked the Pearl Harbor/Dole Plantation/Polynesian Cultural Center tour. We knew it was going to be a long day, and it was. Pros of this tour: you get to see a lot of the top sites of Honolulu. Cons: they advertise AC buses- it was not the case. We were sweating so badly in the bus in between stops, it was so hot. The guide Rich was not super helpful. Gave good information on the drive but the stops could've been more productive with some guidance. Pearl Harbor had a lot that we missed, as did the dole Plantation and the Polynesian Cultural center. For the price that we paid (almost $900 for 4 adults), we expected a little more for our money. He also was somewhat rude, making little comments about certain things to us and others in our group. On our stops, we saw other well organized groups and we wished we would've booked elsewhere. We spent a lot of time in traffic, the pickup spot they chose for us was in the middle of the city so drop off at 530 pm was horrendous. We spent hours in traffic. Could've been planned out better. Overall, choose a different tour.
