Experienced art and culture. - The visits were amazing, the people in each place visited were experts in their area. Gabriel being a lover of Oaxaca and culture took us to places with soul that it is not common to go unless it is with a scholar and in love with art. We visited historical and artistic spaces in the company of Gabriel as a Friend rather than a Guide.

A unique arts tour for folks who want to go deeper than the status quo - We booked this tour after taking Gabriel’s 2-hour walking tour of Oaxaca. We loved him so much we decided to attend this experience too!m and it did not disappoint! This walking tour is a very thoughtful and unique way to experience Oaxacan art and the city as well. We loved that Gabriel focused entirely on Indigenous arts, with no attention on European influences or traditions. Gabriel made links between stone and clay sculptures of the Mixtec, Zapotec, and other cultures 1000s of years ago with today’s blossoming contemporary arts scene (printmaking, textiles, painting, sculpture). Gabriel is engaging and knowledgeable. Truly an exceptional experience!

JOURNEY INTO THE PAST THROUGH THE STREETS OF OAXACA TO CONNECT WITH OUR ROOTS - This wonderful tour allows you to connect and understand the roots and past of an ancient culture, such as Zapotec culture. Through pieces of pre-Hispanic art and wall painting, in private places or in public spaces, you understand the history and culture of Oaxaca. It’s certainly a tour I highly recommend, as those who accompany you in it have the energy, knowledge and passion to make you travel back in time to meet your ancestors and return to the present to recognize how they are still alive. It was a great experience.

Great experience - The tour was very pleasant. It was interesting to approach the city from a perspective that relates the current and the old. It was also a privilege to start the tour in a place that is closed to the public and that you can access thanks to the tour.

A synaesthetic path - It's really hard to describe this review for its uniqueness. Gabriel immediately manages to attract your attention, with spontaneity, passion and joy. He manages to immerse you in the story, almost forgetting his role as a guide, but immediately it is as if you had known him for a long time. What he tells are not pure notions and dates, his narrative path is much more intertwined, deepened and with many curious and interesting anecdotes, which are not within the reach of a simple search. When I walked and listened to it, the perception was synesthetic, between colors, sounds, music that sprayed like magic. No boring or didactic moments to distract you, just a great energy that fills.

Colors of Oaxaca - I recently embarked on an incredible walking tour in Oaxaca that delved into the rich artistic roots of the city, from pre-Hispanic art to contemporary Oaxacan painters. This tour was an absolute delight, thanks to our knowledgeable and passionate guide. Our journey through the streets of Oaxaca was like stepping into a living museum. The guide expertly navigated us through the city's vibrant art scene, beginning with fascinating insights into ancient pre-Hispanic art and its profound influence on Oaxacan culture. As we strolled through the charming streets, we explored numerous murals, galleries, and artisan workshops, each stop unveiling a new layer of the city's artistic heritage. The guide’s extensive knowledge of both historical and modern art was truly impressive. They provided detailed explanations and engaging anecdotes about the various art forms and notable artists, making the experience both educational and enjoyable. We learned about the evolution of Oaxacan art, from traditional techniques to contemporary masterpieces, and saw firsthand the dynamic creativity that defines the city. This tour is a must for anyone interested in the art and culture of Oaxaca. It offers a unique and immersive experience, showcasing the city's artistic legacy through the eyes of a guide who is deeply connected to the local art community. Highly recommended!
