Beautiful sculptures and artwork - Learned a lot about Remington and the time period. The docents are eager to share their knowledge. The downstairs was more enjoyable than the upstairs (to us).

CHARGE! - Seeing the original "1st Volunteer Charge Up San Juan Hill" was a must. It was what I thought it would be. The staff were very knowledgeable and kind. Well worth the time and travel to see. An added bonus was the tickets to the Antique Boat Museum in Clayton, NY.

Very nice museum - I really liked Remington's paintings in other museums, like the Art Institute of Chicago, and was excited to see there is a museum about him. The staff lady working was very passionate and informative, explaining why this museum is located here, in this specific house in Ogdensburg. The museum is not as big as I thought but has lot of info about Remington, and two large rooms with his work. The work includes some pretty paintings and sketches, and also has many of his sculptures, which is very cool. Upstairs, there is a room dedicated to the work of Sally James Farnham, another talented local artist. There's also some historical notes about the history of the house.

Go. Just Go. - That’s right. If you’re on the fence about visiting this art museum, go. Not only are the collections impressive, the staff is splendid. They want you to pick their brains about the collection. And, if you are from out-of-town, they will share with you what they know about the area. The artworks here are top-notch. Check them out. You won’t regret it.

Annual trip - Loved this museum. The fact that it was in their home made it even greater. The volunteers were friendly and knowledgeable. There was a great amount of his works on display as well. Would recommend this museum.

Worth a detour - Passed it by for years on our way to Montreal, and this time made the well rewarded divert. Most excellent, friendly staff, easy to find, easy street parking. The collection, paintings, sculptures, and house furnishings, is well displayed and uncrowded. Provides an enlightening experience and a reminder of a past era. The quiet uncrowded museum gives you time to reflect and appreciate. Really glad we stopped, and recommend it.

Delightful! - Four of us went to this museum during a short stay in the 1000 Islands area of NY. We learned a lot about the artist, his life and his work in both oils and sculpture. He was from the 1000 Islands area, which surprised us because we think of him as a western artist. There was a docent in the areas where Remington's paintings and sculpture are located, who was very knowledgeable about both the artist and the technique of casting in bronze. I think you'll be delighted at this museum as well.

Great art gallery - This was a discovered gem while cross border shopping. An hour well spent. Did think $10 admission was a little over priced...but you're there right.
