There’s more to Santorini than white buildings with blue roofs! - We had been on a winery/sunset tour with Mr. Makis and we liked him so much, we asked him to take us around the island. Mr. Makis picked us up at our schedule time and we headed to Fira. Parking was crazy, so Mr. Makis let us off and provided directions for a short walk to shopping and restaurants. There were several cruise ships in port and things were very crowded, so we didn’t stay long. What we did see was beautiful. The view of the caldera was stunning and the shops are quaint. We headed back to the minivan for our next stop. From our previous tour, I knew that Mr. Makis really liked Greed coffee and I asked if we could stop for a cup. He took us to a place where his parents used to have coffee and he told us how they make the coffee and how to enjoy it. My husband, who is not a coffee drinker, and I loved it. It was that delicious. The restaurant had a great patio with wonderful views of the caldera. We watched cruise ships and ferries travel across the water while we enjoyed our coffee. Once we were all finished, we were off. We stopped at a museum to learn about the civilization that lived on the island before it was destroyed by a volcano. After the museum, we toured the ruins of an ancient city destroyed by the volcano. We saw ancient Venetian castles, windmills used to make grain, the oldest vineyard on the island, the only lighthouse on the island, red, white, and black sand beaches, and little-known spots to enjoy a spectacular sunset. The black sand beach had the coolest beach club with house music and super cool decor. Between stops we enjoyed conversation with Mr. Makis. He taught us so much about the island, its people, and history. He always explained where he was taking us and made sure it was OK. He was conciencous of our time and made sure he had us back on time for our dinner reservation. I can’t say enough about how special he made our day of touring the island. I would 100% recommend Mr. Makis and any tour he provides. You’ll make an appointment with a tour guide and leave the island with a new friend.

Excellent - We lucked into contracting Makis while looking for a taxi. Now knowing his service exists I can say, unequivocally, that I won't consider another trip to Santorini without first reaching out to him. His knowledge of the area, coupled with his connections to EVERYONE on the island, made our short stay as productive as possible. Makis went out of his way to make sure we enjoyed ourselves and it felt like it was just part of who he is to do so. 10 out of 10 I fully recommend.

Perfect Day - We had a wonderful day with Makis. He took us all around Santorini and told us all about the history of this beautiful island. He was a wealth of knowledge because he is a local and was born here. He even setup a wine tasting at Art Wine which was amazing. Highly recommend!
