Amazing!!!! - It was absolutely incredible! We would recommend it to anyone - you need no rafting experience at all. The instructors were lovely: so friendly, chilled, and gave such clear guidance. The river is amazing and the explanation about the importance of the river in Māori culture was great. Worth every penny!

Awful experience - The rafting looks like a fun experience but was totally ruined by our guide Tom. The first thing he ask us if we did level 5 rafting before and we said no and after that his attitude changed. He started screaming at us, being rude and condescending, behaving like a 5 year old child. It was never stated you had to be a professional level 5 rafter or don't sign up. He pushed my daughter into water after asking her if she wants to do it, she told him no multiple times and I asked him not to do it, but he did it anyway, again acting like a child and endangering people on his boat. Next to us was a group with Matt as a guide and they had totally different experience, so my advice if you with Tom as your guide, wait for somebody else or your experience going to be ruined like ours, he should be fired or take anger management classes.
