Highlights
  • Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine - One of Japan’s oldest shrines, with a history spanning nearly 2,000 years. It honors the three sea gods and is a designated national treasure. It’s also a significant site in the history of Osaka Bay. Visitors can learn about Osaka’s history through an old map while exploring the shrine grounds.
  • Shinkizugawa Bridge - Offers excellent views towards Tennoji and the Ikoma Mountains. Enjoy the descent of the three-stage loop bridge, a great spot for photography. With a central span of 305 meters and a total length of 2.4 kilometers, it was Japan’s longest arch bridge at its completion and the 14th largest in the world.
  • Nakayama Steel - Pass through the industrial area featured in Ridley Scott’s film Black Rain, which was shot in Osaka and New York City.
  • Funamachi Ferry Facilities - A short, one-minute ferry ride operated by Osaka City, used exclusively by locals for bicycles and pedestrians.
  • IKEA Tsuruhama - Take a lunch break at IKEA’s Swedish food market. There’s a great viewing spot of Osaka Bay next to the building.
  • Osaka road-5 Namihaya Bridge - Located in the middle of the bay area, it offers a 360-degree view of Osaka. The bridge allows ships to pass through a channel 47 meters above the water and 100 meters wide at the Shirinashi River’s mouth. Known for its steep 6.9% slopes at both ends and the beautiful night view of Osaka from the top.
  • Mt. Tempozan - After passing the aquarium (Kaiyukan), Ferris wheel, and Tadao Ando architecture, take a break at Tempozan, famous for cherry blossoms in spring. The highway over the Aji River is impressive, with USJ on the opposite side. Tenpouzan was created in 1831 by dredging the Aji River to prevent flooding and facilitate large ships entering the city.
  • J.C.T.C. - A photogenic spot where three expressways and subway tracks intersect, featuring intricate pier architecture.
  • Yahataya Syoutengai - A traditional Japanese arcade shopping center.
  • 甚兵衛渡船場(大正区泉尾側) - Another short, one-minute ferry ride operated by Osaka City for locals, accommodating bicycles and pedestrians.
  • Sensai Bridge - The bicycle path is very steep, but you can take a ferry to cross the river instead.
  • Sembonmatsu Bridge - Crosses the Kizu River, connecting to Dotonbori. Known as “Megane-bashi” (glasses bridge) by locals due to its shape. A photo spot with a three-level loop bridge that feels like a roller coaster. Offers spectacular views of Osaka beyond the canal.

Especially in this bay area, public transportation is not well developed, so ordinary tourists rarely enter the area. The entire tour is about 30 kilometers, cycling from reclaimed land to reclaimed land, on high bridges and ferries over canals, passing through factories, warehouses and residential areas, allowing you to enjoy the Osaka you have never seen before. From each bridge, you can enjoy the entire city of Osaka from different angles.

The amazing e-bike Osaka tour - It was super fun to explore some “unknown Osaka spots” with a very local tour guide. The tour was about 5 hours long and we went to Sumiyoshi-Taisha⛩️, the lowest mountain in Japan⛰️ and some beautiful bridges with e-bike. Most places are not on guide books or websites + the guide really knows about the history of Osaka and he is a great photo/videographer (thanks for that!!). I couldn’t get to such an amazing sceneries just by myself and I kinda felt like “I experienced the real Osaka” and it’s so fresh! Thank you for the opportunity to meet some local stuff and tips about deep Osaka:)

Hi Osaka - Banri, my guide, is an experienced guy on cycling. He taught me full of patience and smile all the time when I was stupid handling the bike upon start. The route he designed is great that brought me to another face of Osaka, quiet, beautiful. Thanks Banri, wish to join you in another surprise route.

Great tour!!! - Great ride around bridges in Kyoto, the e bikes are brand new, in great conditions. Banri was very nice, happy to answer all of your questions about food, attractions, etc. The view from bridges are unique as you cannot get it from any where else considering there is no helicopter tour for Kyoto. The ferry was special too. Very happy with the tour :)

Osaka as you've never seen it before - We visited some historical places. What was impressive was crossing a huge bridge on my bike that I had never been across before and riding a boat that you could take your bike on. This is something you can only experience in Osaka. Our guide also knew a lot about history. It was fun. I'd like to participate again.
